Nothing like a good ol' fashion 78-0 drubbing of a group of 5 scho....oh wait Rutgers is a P5 school.

            • I don't think UNL can go to the Holiday bowl due to the BIG agreements on rotating teams.. Hence I think Iowa and UNL will flip.

                • CFB Radio was loaded today with the looming controversies surrounding the potential outcomes of this weekends, CCGs. I'm not in any way advocating for M. IMO they lost their opportunity to play in the CFP on the field at Kinnick and in the shoe. But it is going to be an interesting conundrum for the Play Off Committee if either U-Dub or Clemson, the most likely teams to bone it up, lose their CCGs.

I think those of us discussing this here know who the three best CFB teams are based on their body of work to date (Alabama, osu and M) and Clemson, up until the outcome of their CCG is a distant #4.

I like Rick Neuheisel and Chris Childer's show on Sirius. Neuheisal was honest when he said, if, after Tuesday, Clemson and Washington are #3 or 4 and either one of them loses their respective CCGs, no matter who they pick to replace the looser (Wisky, PSU, M, OU, CU) their is going to be outrage.

He further opined that the Play-off Committee might even pull a surprise, thinking ahead of this conundrum, by placing one or both of the current occupiers of the 3/4 spots in the 5/6 spots, place whoever they think is the best team out of the current outliers at #3/4 and make the other's play-in by winning their CCGs.

                  1) Alabama
                  2) osu
                  3) Michigan
                  4) OU

Best or best two CCG performances takes the the #3 and or #4 spot(s). Sounds crazy but crazy like a fox.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                  • I'm not sure you could put OU in the playoff.. that's more about name brand than body of work.

                      • Agreed about OU ...... but this is a ploy to make their final selection to the FF defensible.

                        • and Washington loses, I think a BIG school is in.. I don't think they'd go to OU with the way they lost earlier in the season.

No question. So that outcome makes the choice of Washington to the FF an easy one for the Committee. No one will challenge that. In the scheme I'm talking about the goal of the committee is to insure their picks for the FF are defensible. Their setting themselves up to succeed and ward of challenges with this sort of scheme.

                            • Hard to see how you can't have a B1G team in, if not two. By far it's the best conference in the country. I'm not that worked up about it -- I wanted M to beat OSU and would have been content with that and a loss in the first round of the playoff. I also don't want to sacrifice my New Year's Eve. Going to the playoff will not make up for though, even though the prospect of a rematch with OSU on a neutral field is awfully enticing. But, big picture, I agree with AA about the need to limit it to four teams. And I think that the best four teams have to go, regardless of who won what CCG. It's awfully hard to argue that any ACC team deserves a shot at all.
