I'll take any win, just so we end up with one more point than them.

I've always liked Mark Richt (now at the U).
I don't think he had any idea what he was getting into down there. One of the cleanest coaches in CFB by a mile.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Most believe Richt underachieved at Georgia but he rarely won less than 9 games, UG had a higher standard than those in the SEC West and at times, Gainesville. Just one season where everything went right and won a NT, he'd be viewed more favorably.
Climbing up the ACC ladder will be easy relative to just sustaining his success at UG. The U hasn't invested as heavily in the facility arms race as other schools in the southeast however, Richt does have tons of blue chip talent available in Florida and hopefully, he can keep some of that talent going to FSU, Florida, Bama, etc. ACC certainly needs at least a 3rd wheel to Clemson & FSU as those programs are well ahead of everyone else in that conference.

Right. Richt will have a ton of talent available.
He's just not going to pay for it and that talent will go where the money is.
Who was it, Donna Shalala I think, who was ostensibly hired by the U to clean up the booster act down there. Prime probably has some good scoop on how successful she was but the $500 handshakes, strippers, prostitutes and wild parties were so deeply ingrained in the U's football program I'm not sure how good she did even though reports might say she cleaned things up.
I suspect Richt is battling this still.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
