any how many times we bashed MGO for its irrationality? ... not worth reading, who do you keep doing it? You know what the position of the majority of posters here is.
M is CLEARLY not a CFP team, not even remotely close.
I have no idea what will happen against PSU, although I do think HARBAUGH > Franklin.
Against O-state ... yes, we should be beaten soundly. Yet, I thought we should have been beaten soundly two years ago as well --- so who knows.
So, even if we somehow win these 2, beat Iowa in the B1G --- an extremely unlikely scenario, I still don't think we are deserving of the CFP, and I am fairly confident the Committee will see it that way as well. There will be plenty of other 1 and 2 loss teams to choose from.

PB:
Your post is full of fair. You suck. :-)
I'll stop with the CFP talk, but whether or not M is "deserving" -- I don't think it's remote. And I GUARANTEE you that this forum will change its tune entirely on the "deserving" front if M should beat Penn State, Ohio State and Iowa.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Wondering whether we'll make the playoffs by winning out is like wondering whether the hottest chick in the class will pay for your dinner if you score a date with her. 11-2 + a B1G championship would be such an unqualified success that the playoff hardly matters.

Oh, I think M would be "deserving" of a seat at the CFP table if it runs the table, as unlikely that scenario is.
You're talking about leaving the BT Champion, a P5 champion, out while giving a seat to an independent like ND, a 2 loss P10 champion or a B12 champion that got there by not having to play a CCG at all.
If that unlikely scenario of choices does play out, it's going to be damn interesting to see how the Committee deals with it.......not to mention a 6 team play-off will be born.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. I still don't understand why it's some sort of extremely unlikely scenario. I'm fairly certain advanced stats will say it's at least a credible possibility.
Look, I think M would get destroyed in the CFP. But I also think they have a very legitimate chance to make it. What will be interesting, as I said, is if Stanford beats Notre Dame and Utah wins out to win the P12, does the CFP take 11-2 Utah or 11-2 M? That's going to be a fascinating question.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

No contest ..... Utah beat M. That's the most justifiable reason the Committee will have if it sets up like that. M fans will howl, the BT will howl, they can just STFU.
I think the worst case for the Committee is going to be dealing with a one loss ND but I could see them getting in over a 2 loss P12 or B10 champ but, Oh the injustice.
I'd be down with that only because I hate the Domers.
I think you are right about the reasonable probability that M runs the table and vies for a play-off berth. I'll be looking for that analysis by mid-week or so and post a link.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off.
