Which just adds to the logic of your position.

Seems like a no-brainer but maybe there are other considerations I'm just not seeing. If it's other than, "just because," who we can probably thank the University Presidents and ADs for taking a stupid position like that, that's just baloney...... or maybe better put, Delaney.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

    • Bipolar RichRod beats #9 Utah in OT - That seals it, on to VT!

      • Rich Rod at VA Tech, huh? That may be interesting. He'd have access to better recruiting areas, but that doesn't seem to matter to him. He's stuck on going after those MAC and American Conference guys ...

          • The Pac12 pretty much eliminated itself from the playoffs yesterday...wow...Stanford, Utah, and UCLA all lose to teams they're expected to beat. And USC nearly lost to crapass Colorado

Oklahoma is good. That Texas loss is a killer, though.

It'll be interesting to see how the CFP assess Utah and M. M seems likely to finish 11-2 and win the B10. What if Utah finishes 11-2 and wins the P12? Or what if Stanford finishes 11-2 and wins the P12 with wins against Notre Dame and Utah (and USC, eh)?

Oklahoma is good. That Texas loss is a killer, though.
I'm not sure it is if they win at Baylor and at Okie State. But, man, if they're going head-to-head with ND for a spot they couldn't have a worse loss given that ND destroyed UT.

                    • To give the PAC12 conference some credit, they are a really good conference. Gary Anderson and Chris Peterson coach two of worst teams in the conference. So much great coaching depth.
B10 has awful Kyle Flood, Darrell Hazell, and Tracy Claeys ... And several average head coaches (just to compare coaching depth vs PAC12).
But yea, looks like the PAC12 won't be in the playoffs.

I was impressed with Baker Mayfield last night. At the rate he is going, he might compete with Henry for Heisman. I'd pick Henry now still.

                      • P12 is very deep. I still think there's a path for a 2-loss champion. In fact, I think a 2-loss team WILL be in the CFP.

Re Baker Mayfield correct except the Heisman stuff. He's way behind Watson when it comes to QBs. Right now it's Henry/Fournette for the RB vote with Elliot a distant 3rd (chance to make up some ground next two weeks) and Watson in for the QBs.

Stanford will have to knock off ND because they wouldn't put a two-loss PAC12 team in over a one-loss ND team.
B12, the best scenario for non-B12 fans would be Baylor knocking off TCU and Oklahoma St, then Texas beating Baylor.
Then Oklahoma St needs to knock off Oklahoma.

Question is: Would a one loss Oklahoma St team make it in over a two loss SEC, B10, PAC12, or ND?
Oklahoma State (11-1) vs Michigan (11-2) or ND (10-2), or Alabama (11-2), or Stanford (11-2)?
What if UNC is 12-1? I'd have to think they make it after beating #1 Clemson.

                          A lot has to happen.

                          • I think a 1-loss B12 champion is in over any 2-loss team. So, basically I think the B12 is in. If Okie State beats Baylor, it's a lock, IMO.

                            • Clemson has a spot pretty nearly locked in as long as they win 1 of vs cupcake, SC & NC (ACC CG); two tough games...

Bama (9-1) has cupcake, Auburn and Florida (9-1) left... I think they drop too far if they lose one more but don't see it happening... If Florida wins out (vs cupcake, FSU, then Bama in SEC CG), they'll earn Bama's spot...

Ohio State (10-0) has it's three toughest games left; Sparty, Michigan and probably Iowa... This team is really good with JTB but that's a brutal schedule left (unless Cook is out next week); imo 1-loss won't look too bad and still likely gets them in though if Iowa wins out, they might steal their spot... Iowa (10-0) with cupcake, Nebraska & B1G CG left... Sparty (9-1) has OSU, PSU and maybe Iowa left. They'd need to run the table against a brutal schedule to get in. Another top 10 team for Dantonio but again, outside the national title picture...

Pac 12 beat itself up too much to get a spot, that is what happens in a league that's really deep where it's 5th-8th teams can beat the top four teams. Very unlike the league I'll talk about next, the Big XII which has four really good teams and the rest is poop...

Oklahoma State (10-0) is out in front of the Big XII but they've got Baylor and Oklahoma left. Good chance they'll drop one of the two. Who beats them has a good chance to jump out in front of the Big XII's CFP spot. Oklahoma (9-1) has TCU & OkSU, two top 10 teams... TCU (9-1) plays Oklahoma or Baylor... Baylor (8-1) has OkSU, TCU and Texas left... No idea who comes out as the 1-loss Big XII team but whoever does should get a spot in the CFP...

Then there is fucking ND (9-1) with cupcake & Stanford left... The Stanford game will be hyped as a CG for ND so its good Stanford lost this week. ND certainly with a win over Stanford will get hyped as a CFP team claiming wins over Navy & Temple were quality wins. Hopefully they are on the outside looking in like they deserve.
