  • Yeah, but Stalin gave us great quotes: "A single TD is a tragedy; a million TDs against Auburn is a nice start."

    • A million TDs against Auburn is quite possible with that defense.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
      Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

        • You guys are hilarious ..... brings a smile to the face of humbled M fans in this sad time.

BTW, agree with you, Strange on CBS. Love their web site; it's on my iPad and works/streams flawlessly compared to ESPN's which constantly has to be restarted.

Something else, CBS broadcasts in 1020i while ABC/ESPN run their broadcasts in 720p. There are advantages and disadvantages to both but, given the same input (i.e., have to compare apples to apples), CBS's 1020i has mind-blowing picture quality.

I think Fox sports broadcasts in general can be a little cheezy (the eye of the beholder though - some, I guess, love it) but I detest everything about Disney/ESPN. I'd take Fox.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

          • "ESPN, the Worldwide Leader in Sports Entertainment by the grace of Allah, does not cover the SEC any differently than the Pac12 or the Big12, even though we have significantly less money invested in those leagues!"

"I refer you non-SEC infidels to the quality coverage we, the Sons of the Avenging Worldwide Leader, gave to the NHL or NASCAR when under contract and compare it to our coverage when they appeared on another network!"

"Despicable dogs of curs, you will find no difference in our coverage!!"

"It is true we have a style manual when it comes to college football coverage BUT, you sons of whores, they are merely suggestions and not edicts. For example, we suggest that if you want your employment contract renewed, you follow these guidelines:

            * Instead of saying a team had a "nice" or "good" victory, say it was an 'SEC-style' victory.
            * Rather than praise an athlete's speed, say he has 'SEC type' speed
            * Whenever broadcasting a UCLA or or Baylor game, it's important to remind viewers of Nick Saban's existence. Think Dickie V and Coach K/Coach Cal. Those games are fucking boring anyway and viewers will inevitably want to be reminded of pleasanter subjects, like the state of Alabama or SEC football.
            * If a team has a run-based gameplan, say that's an 'old school SEC offense'. If a team has a pass-based gameplan, say that's a 'new school SEC offense'.
            * Please refer to Mr. Paul Finebaum in all intros as a 'much-respected and award-winning journalist'."

            • Florida may have landed Colorado State's Jim McElwain.

              • Yeah. I hate that. I had always hoped that McElwain would come back to Bama after Saban left/retired. Solid coach.

                          ESPN loves the SEC:

Big Ten has the best RBs, Pac-12 has the best QBs. ACC went 4-0 against the SEC last Saturday, and the Big 12 has two contenders.

It's clear: SEC no longer exceptional
