  • The post in the "Ban Bloodsports" thread is genius work. Your effort lacked the brilliant straight-man hook (i.e., Bloodsports) and generally straight-man response defending Bloodsport. The confused "I think we're talking about two different things" response was the just reward.

Your effort is simply satire by exaggeration. A credible effort for an approach that rates as overused and poorly done by internet posters of every ilk.

A comparable effort on your part would have been along the lines of arguing that it's ridiculous to think that ESPN has any sort of bias for the Securities and Exchanges Commission, and so what if they do -- you'll be damned if anyone poor-mouths that outstanding organization.

In other words, to quoteth _THE_PROPHET_ ... STFU!

    • Don't sweet talk me "416". You know you loved the "Blind Side" reference.

And earlier? Counting "The Office" reruns on Fox as B1G mentions because of Andy Bernard and DSL? That was pure "Talent".

      • The Cornell line was, by far, your best effort. It was downright SEC West of you, whilst most of the other material ranged between ACC Coastal and Big Ten.

is 50% of the top 25 in the SEC? if so, I'd agree... but since it's not...

and while we like to joke, if you're a HS senior and you watch espn gameday, all you see is SEC... it will influence decisions.. well, that and $$.

I'm not saying espn shouldn't support their investments. Rather, be honest about it.

                • And we know there is bias because some guy allegedly counted minutes on a GameDay or two? It's gonna take more than that to make me a believer. Just like if the B1G is discussed more than the SEC this week, it won't prove anything.

UAB has zero fan support. And I say that as an alum. No one cares, or ever has cared. The students who attend, for the most part, grew up UA or AU fans. Seeing UAB play some C-USA team at Legion Field is not even something they'll do with comped tickets and a free shuttle, and concessions.

The program shoulda been put down years ago.

                    • Nobody cares about the PAC12

The other conferences start winning a wee bit they will be talked about. ESPN used to slobber all over Tressel.

                      • UAT has done everything in its power to squelch the budding UAB program. Their agent, one AlabamAlum, notoriously talks down and smears the program every chance he gets. The Tide fears the instate juggernaut that UAB could one day become.

I think it's more of a product of the typical over-reported sensational bullshit that passes for news these days. Look at the Ebola story. One guy had it in a nation of over 300 million people and it lead every night on every major network for weeks. SEC=Ebola.

                              • Official attendance. UAB would not be in the Top 25 of FCS teams. Div II Tuskegee out draws UAB.
