          • NOT an FSU fan, but this is bad by espn.. they're getting worse...

A 43-3 win by Florida State in which the Seminoles covered the spread & outgained Wake Forest by 350 yards was described by ESPN as: "The Seminoles struggle and take Wake Forest down to the wire."

            • I've always said that if these moronic talkinghead play by play and color commentators sat behind me at a game and spewed the prattle that they do, I would turn around and tell them to shut the fuck up.

                    • There is some validity to his overall point but the author loses a little credibility with me when he tries to make the Winston stuff into a witch hunt. Fowler makes a good point about the Big Ten being potentially much more lucative than the SEC.

                      • I read it, thanks for posting. I thought it's good. It's silly that FSU is a poster-child for that sorta thing, but it's good. Whatever works to remedy the situation.

That said, they do it with non-SEC games too. I remember on Saturday looking at ESPN.com when MSU was up just a touchdown in the first quarter and the headline was ``M, MSU in a dogfight'' or somesuch. Obviously not. But this is ESPN these days.

                        • I think the point on the witch hunt was the obvious differences in attention. FSU is dirty and I don't have a problem with the attention they've received, but SEC "issues" have been ignored. I believe, like the article, it is a purposeful. It's part of making the SEC look good

                          • with the almost monopoly ESPN has on CF, the headlines, words they use, who is covered and who is ignored makes a big difference in rankings and recruiting.

                            • The SEC is the sports equivalent of ebola. It's all the rage.

                              • Agree your points fully, ent. CFB is already questionable in terms of how much of the outcome is settled off the field rather than on it. Any further tilts in that direction are definitely dangerous.
