  • This very nice article on Thomas Rawls raises a lot of questions for me about Coach Jackson's usefulness as M's RBs coach.

It appears that it is just another example of that they are not very good and that this may be Hoke's undoing in the end.

Anyway, nice article about a solid kid who used to play for M.

In his first two games at CMU after transferring from the University of Michigan, Rawls is giving the fans their money's worth with his gritty style of play. Rawls is knocking over defenders, gaining extra yards after contact and playing with a chip on his shoulder in his No. 34 Chippewas uniform.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

      • Who are they playing this week?

He DOES understand that "Donkey Kong Suh" may be made aware of his comments, ... and that he's likely to be reminded of these comments at some point in the game ...???

          • I think that's what he's hoping for Wiz. He'd like Suh to lose control and get himself tossed from the game and fined.

Its the actions of a true coward, IMO.

I'd call Cam Newton a whiny baby, but that'd be an insult to whiny babies.

            • One of the more promising young members of the Miami defense won’t suit up for the Hurricanes this season.

According to the Associated Press, sophomore defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad has been suspended by the university – not the team – for an incident that occurred off-the-field.

The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson is reporting that Muhammad “is being punished for a confrontation with a roommate that left the roommate with a broken nose.” The incident reportedly took place “a while ago” and the decision to suspend Muhammad was made “above the athletic department.”

According to Jackson, Muhammad claimed self-defense, but there were “conflicting statements when witnesses were interviewed.”

Because of the suspension, the program announced that Muhammad is not currently enrolled at the university, meaning he cannot attend classes or participate in athletics, but he can choose to return for the spring semester.

Muhammad has not played for the Hurricanes so far this season, but he has been practicing while “university officials assessed whether he violated Miami’s code of conduct.”
As a true freshman in 2013, the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Muhammad registered eight tackles and two sacks while making appearances in all 13 games for the Hurricanes. Muhammad was a four-star recruit out of Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey and Rivals rated him as the No. 49 overall prospect in the 2013 class.

Since he did not play in a game this season, Muhammad will still have three seasons of eligibility remaining if he chooses to stay at Miami.

Kansas State switched up its offensive signals Thursday night because coach Bill Snyder believed Auburn was stealing signs.

"They're getting our signals," Snyder told ESPN sideline reporter Samantha Ponder, adding that the Wildcats changed up some of their signals during halftime.

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn denied any first-half advantage after the game, which the Tigers won 20-14.

"No, no," he said when asked if Auburn knew the signals.

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher made the same claims against Auburn after January's BCS National Championship Game win, as the Seminoles reportedly used towels to block some of their signals.

                  • I would hate being a Clemson fan... like if I followed them hardcore, that would suck.
Their college basketball and football teams always seem to choke or come up short in a big situation... at least that has always happened since I started watching sports in 2004.

This is exactly how Michigan fans feel today.

Since ESPN went loud & proud with the big ten's early non-conference record vs Power 5 teams, I'm sure they will now be just as loud reporting how the numbers shake out as we head into conference play:

Most non-conf wins over Power 5 teams:
                              1- PAC 12, 6 (UCLA twice)
                              2- Big Ten, 5
                              2- $EC, 5
4- ACC, 4 (does beating Kansas really count?)
4- Big 12, 4 (two last second FG wins over B10)

Most non-conf road wins at Power 5 teams:
                              1- PAC-12, 4
                              2- Big Ten, 3
                              3- Big 12, 2
                              3- SEC, 2
                              5- ACC, 1

So naturally the SEC dominates the top 15. Because ESPN says it shall be.
