UCLA's offense has looked terrible so far against UVa, from what I've seen, but they've managed to bail themselves out with three defensive touchdowns. UVa's offense looking terrible, of course, is not all that noteworthy.

Since switching to Matt Johns, UVa has been clearly the better team. 21-17 now. UCLA's offense is going to have to accomplish something, or they're going down in Charlottesville.

I'll admit-- I bought in to the UCLA hype coming into this season. Seeing them dismantle VT relatively easily in the Sun Bowl may have clouded my judgment, but the Bruins had more starters returning than any other team in the top 25, IIRC. I had them in my football Final Four(with FSU, Oklahoma, and Alabama). That assessment looks wildly off the mark at the moment.

UVa has struggled for years to find a competent QB. If Matt Johns is really as good as he's looked today, they've got something there, and a competent QB in the ACC Coastal might be enough to win you the division.

They were a genuinely good team last year. No reason not to expect them to just roll over UVA in this game
