Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

  • M vs Ohio; I think they took into consideration M and Nebraska have been in the same division. Just the inverse for M and Wisconsin.

                    • Good level of detail, though. It's great to have a spotlight on it on a regular basis. Highlight the problem, keep it in the conversation. The problem is this very good point:

"If we could take a vote for these kids to make a real salary every season, I would vote for it. $40,000 or something. Goes back to mama, buys them a car, lets them go live like normal people after they work their asses off for us. But let's be honest, that ain't gonna stop all this. If everyone gets $40,000, someone would still be trying to give 'em 40 extra on the side."

                      • They 'earn' it and are driving revenue to those schools, it's that total bs Title IX that stops these kids from reaping those benefits.

                        • They can't give 40K a year to their football players and NOT give 40K a year to the scholarship women's soccer players.

                          Its all or none.

                          • Only 2 sports increase significant revenue but you're correct that given the rules currently in place, everyone is going to get $4k before the basketball and football players get $30k which is much closer to their worth.

                            • That's why the solution to this problem is to eliminate enforcement. If some jock sniffer wants to pay a kid $500,000 to go to his university, then let him. This payment won't be subject to Title IX.
