High School Player Rips Off Opponent's Helmet, Beats Him With It



Authorities are considering criminal charges.
The incident took place Friday night, during a game between Hamburg and Annville-Cleona in Lebanon County, Penn., near Harrisburg. During a third-quarter scrum following a fumble, Hamburg senior safety/QB Joseph Cominsky pulled the helmet off lineman Josh Hartman and hit him with it twice before being tackled.
You can see video of the fight at WGAL.com. Hartman suffered a laceration on his scalp, but was otherwise uninjured. Cominsky was ejected, as was an Annville-Cleona player who threw punches. Each is automatically suspended for one game.
Police are investigating the brawl, with the police chief saying charges could be forthcoming. "We are looking at one person particularly at this time," he said.
The school district has scheduled a hearing for tomorrow, at which it could enforce its own discipline.

I saw the whole video on another site. Sounds like the HC is blaming the officials for a slow whistle.

The officials better lawyer up. They're about to be thrown under the bus for the entire incident.

Liney, the kid should be thrown off the team and banned from any school sports and be taken through the judicial process There was nothing at all sports related in this, it was assault, pure and simple. Oh and if the area or region those refs belong to doesn't support them 100% then the refs need to walk out. Any sanctioning body that doesn't see that for exactly what it was isn't worth camel's spit

I just watched this, Ent---can you tell us a little more about it? I was aware of the UCLA Football Player getting hit and killed a few days back, but can't pick up on the video what the question or comment was that caused the coach to yell "Shut Up!!" and the ensueing verbal exchange that culminated in him abruptly ending the press conference.

it sounded to me like the guy was either on his phone when the UCLA coach was talking about the memory of this kid or he was talking to someone else..

either way, probably not a good time for someone to talk... pretty disrespectful to the kids memory and his parents.

The SEC schools are probably laughing at what cheapskates the Oklahoma State folks are. Envelopes with only $100 in them? SEC recruits don't even get out of bed for that.
