  • South Florida is a train wreck program. They seemed set to get over the hill in that shitty conference with BJ Daniels and such, but last year was disastrous and this year will be even worse.

I wasn't surprised by Eastern Washington and North Dakota State -- those are two really good programs. Oregon State and K-State aren't good enough to take either too lightly.

I was probably most surprised by SDS. I don't know how good EIU is supposed to be this season. But, they couldn't stop them. SDS turned the ball over a ton, but that didn't affect the 500+ yards they surrendered.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

    • Yeah those close victories weren't as shocking. It's the dominance in those blowouts that really raises eyebrows. SDSU must be absolutely horrendous. If the point spread is 40 this weekend, you should still cover it easily.

It looked like South Florida was going to turn into a perennially decent mid-major ala Cincinnati or TCU. But man, it must really be a train wreck there now.

            • I don't take much of any issue with 'throwback' or 'alternate' uniforms, Adidas is just horrendous at creating ones that look decent.. Our home uniforms are already perfect so I hope they are left alone for a long time, I'd be alright with a decent 'alternate' away uni but have no confidence in Adidas making anything that doesn't hurt my eyeballs.

Adidas affinity for the silly three stripes has stopped me from buying any official apparel for some time, actually about the very time Adidas started making M's official apparel. The stripes always look really out of place on every bit of M Adidas apparel I consider buying and take an otherwise attractive polo, sweatshirt, t-shirt, jacket, etc. look cheap.

              • Ditto Addidas apparel.

Shopped at M Den Tuesday. Picked out a nice jacket for Ann. Tried it on, the stupid , 3 neon yellow stripes down the sleeves ruined the look and simplicity of maze on blue.

Anyone noticed what a tough time stores selling M apparel are having other than M Den? Moes is struggling; Michigan Book Store is becoming a Walgreen's.

I'd recommend Meijer's these days. They've got a licensing deal with M and have some decent stuff at half the price of similar products at M Den.

Hoke was wearing what looked like a new style polo. All blue, no stripes and a bloc M on the left colar tab. Could not find that anywhere.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                • I've found Meijer's stuff looks OK but is lower quality and doesn't last as long.

                  • I found some decent stuff at Kohls. I used to get all my gear at the Great Divide in Flint but they are getting squeezed on merchandise - can't get the good stuff anymore.

                    • Kohls is pretty good and the quality is up there for M Gear. JC Penney used to have a very good asssortment of M Clothing, too, but i haven't set foot in one for about 5 years now. Meijer has massive quantities at a good price, but could up the selection quality a bit. And does anyone shop at Sears or KMart anymore?

I still try to shop at Moe's in AA at least once every couple of years. They seem to have always carried a few things that are unique/unavailable anywhere else.

Much worse than anything Adidas has done, in my opinion. Here, they take away some of the school colors. Florida is Blue and Orange, not Black, Blue and Silver.

I haven't seen Adidas subtract and add colors yet.

                        • More from Nike. Swoosh!:

As reported by both Uni Watch and Business Insider, Nike went into full panic mode when it realized that the apparel it sent to a number of top schools, including Alabama, Florida, and LSU, only had Nike logos on the sleeves. Those didn't show up on television broadcasts during Week 1.

                          • May have already been posted...Sports Illustrated expected to drop a bomb on Oklahoma State in a series of articles accusing the school of paying players going back to at least the Les Miles era (almost 10 years ago)

Nice to see them serve up a knuckle sandwich to the Gamecocks, and leave Clowney gasping for air at the end.

Clowney wasn't even in on the last 5-6 plays of the game when Carolina needed him most.

Yeah, .. give him the Heisman ...
