    • Al Borges. He is used to being blamed for everything.

      • More than a third of the schedule without scoring a touchdown. Bound to happen.

        • Les Miles hires Cameron as his OC and we are stuck with Fatboy. Cameron developed Flacco and Rivers.

LSU coach Les Miles has hired longtime NFL assistant Cam Cameron as LSU's new offensive coordinator, CBSSports.com reported Friday.

          • Risky hire. Not based on his skill set or record but rather that he knows him.

Cameron had a few good years at M as QB and WRs coach. He was then hired by the Redskins as QBs coach and the got hired by Indiana who has an excellent record of picking terrible HCs. He was fired after three losing seasons and rolled back to the NFL as the Charger's OC. he got credit for Drew Breeze's success there and was picked up as HC of the Dolphins where he flamed out again going 1-15. He had some early success as OC of the Ravens but, unsurprisingly, he got fired mid 2012 season because, surprise, he was too conservative.

I think Miles just signed his termination order. One sucky season in the brutal SEC West with Cameron making the calls on offense - a pretty much guaranteed outcome - and Miles will be gone. Book it.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

            • I expect a really mediocre LSU team next season, they've lost as much to the NFL, graduation as anyone.

              • This is pretty funny, especially the line, "Kiffin made all the offensive calls."

USC is really third on my list of football programs I enjoy seeing suffer embarrassing seasons. But Kiffin has to be right up there on my list of dirt balls getting paid to run a college football program.

                  • On Cameron?

Could be that he succeeds but it seems to me that Miles has had his best success at Okie State and LSu with offenses that advantage themselves with the unexpected.

Cameron doesn't do that. Can LSU recruit at the same level as Bama does that allows a dominant NFL style of play? Does Miles have the kind of focus and attention to detail that Saband does? I don't think he does. He might last for two losing seasons, or even mediocre ones but after that, LSU deciders aren't going to tolerate it.

You, and about a million other Michigan fans.

But, Hoke doesn't work that way. And in the long run, I think its going to be better for the program that he stuck with Borges.

If Devin Gardner has the kind of year I believe he will have, and Derrick Green can get in the 1,000 - 1,200 yard rushing range, nobody will be calling for Borges' head anymore.

                        • And that probably won't be because Borges is any good. It'll be because the rest of the team can overcome him.

Lofty expectations for a true freshman.

                            Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                            • Yeah but the primary goal here is to make sure Hoke doesn't have to fire a friend or face questions in press conferences that would imply accountability, so Green is just going to have to man up and find a way.

Not really. Its a 12 game regular season, so if he were to average 90 rushing yards per game, he'd make that range. And, those kind of rushing yards would help take a lot of the offensive load off Gardner's arm (or legs) and make the offense more diverse.

The point is, if the offense plays better, Borges will mysteriously become a much better coach.
