Their bowl game was against a cream puff 4-4 Mountain West team that lost to Air Force, South Florida, and Fresno St, and without a miracle, would have beat them too. They were an incredibly lucky team this year.

Well, they did beat USC, Washington, and Oklahoma State, all of whom were at least capable teams. And they had Stanford on the ropes until blowing it in overtime. Arguably a better season in his first year than Stoops had in eight.

Nevada also lost their QB for a few drives, which is what kept them off the scoreboard late in the game. They had 600 yards of offense through three quarters, which is incredible.

In his past four seasons, RichRod's teams are giving up 429 yards per game. That includes this year's Arizona team, which gave up 499 ypg.

RichRod had a very typical RichRod year -- some amazing shootouts won and lost, some ridiculous discipline problems, and very likely no lessons learned from the whole thing.
