NCAA has a minimum attendance policy for Div I football which they don't enforce, a lot of MAC, Sun Belt, WAC and MWC teams don't belong in Div I.

Yep, that's what the deal was the last time around. The NCAA told Eastern that their attendance had to improve if they wanted to stay in a BCS conference. They may be headed to a "subdivision" soon. They have been selling all their tickets as general admission $5.00 for years now. That's what you pay to get into a HS game around here.I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, its usually my ankle

Sounds like Maryland & Rutgers will deliver the entire states of NJ, Maryland along with NYC & DC...
Sorry, it's not a zero sum game, with the BTN in place the B10 has avenues of extracting revenue (carriage fees) the Big East and ACC don't. These schools also add 'inventory' to the BTN, which means we'll be seeing Thursday night games (after byes) on ESPN, BTN.

I still think Syracuse and Pitt would have been better choices.
Yes, I understand that the B1G Network wants access to NYC/Wash DC area cable companies, but those two would have been better competition wise.
The first time OlieO or Michigan has to go play a Thursday night game at Rutgers in November is going to bring a howl from the fans and alumni like we've never heard before.I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, its usually my ankle

This move sounds like it caused exactly what Delaney hoped, an ACC conference that has a handful of the stronger universities looking to jump ship. Rumors that GT, Virginia, VT, Clemson, FSU, Miami, have been calling the B10, SEC, Big XII.Last edited by WM Wolverine; November 25, 2012, 04:29 PM.
