Not that I mind N beating MSU. Matter of fact im glad, Im not a big fan of 'Mr Personality' and his rogue team. Also reminds me so much of LLoyd Carr (and that is never a good thing).

what he's not allowed to hit someone behind the play chasing his runner?
Actually the hit was well behind the action and there IS a rule against that yes...Rule 9-12-b:
Contact Against an Opponent Out of the PlayARTICLE 12. a. No player shall tackle or run into a receiver when a forwardof the play either before or after the ball is dead.
pass to him obviously is not catchable. This is a personal foul and not pass
interference.
b. No player shall run into or throw himself against an opponent obviously out
It was a bonehead play by a thug. He and an NU receiver had been going at it all day and on that play he targeted our receiver who was well out of the play to take a cheap shot. Iffen MSU wasn't a bunch of thugs they would have beat us. They are. He was a dumbass. NU's BS late hit out of bounds and another bogus DPI call that kept a TD drive for MSU alive on 3rd and long directly led to 11 points they would not have scored. That crew was awful that day...both ways. Over officiated.
Shut the fuck up Donny!

State wants to be this macho-tough-smashmouth team, but they're going about it the wrong way. They seem to think that all the extracurricular stuff makes them tough and fearful. It doesn't. It makes them undisciplined, and when you are an undisciplined football team, you're going to make big mistakes at the wrong times.
Schembechler and Hayes taught their teams to be tough, without being dirty. I remember watching those classic games, and it was very rare to see any late hitting, cheap shots, personal fouls, etc. The players hit each other hard, and it was always both teams' most physical game of the year. But it was always clean.
That style of football is considered too old-fashioned nowadays. That's too bad."in order to lead America you must love America"

That's a Jim Schwartz team too.

Not so sure MSU was the "better team". NU left a shitton of points on the field but so did MSU because they were thugs. If (and it's a big if) NU EVER decides to stop making stupid decisions we are pretty damn good...a Top Ten Team...MSU on the other hand...they are a fringe Top 25 team with thugs which is not a good combination. Remember...a year ago we beat them 24-3 and it wasn't even that close...when they won the division.Shut the fuck up Donny!

MSU is awful, they barely reach the red zone and can't get in when they do. Their only wins in the B10 are against Indiana and Wisky. I had no delusions of them beating Nebraska despite them playing a pretty good game...
They are quite good defensively, which allows them to stay in most every game they play. I watched a good bit of Sparty/Nebraska and the Cornhuskers for the most part outplayed them. Only thing that kept the game close was the many interceptions (3) that Martinez threw...
I think that MSU team could grow up a lot by next season, they have some pieces of the puzzle and I think Maxwell will look better IF and when their is more talent around him. Believe Sparty doesn't play any of Wisky, PSU or OSU in '13/'14 so they could be mediocre but stay in the race for the 'west' division.
