Like I said before...had it been called a TD on the field it would have held up. It was called a fumble...wasn't a 50/50 deal by any means and not saying it was...but the standard to overturn is when it is certain and indisputable. I'm sure that means different things to different people. Did we get a break? Yep. Would I have been pissed if that happened to us? Yep. Could we have won even if it was overturned? Yep. Get over it.

I don't know if it's just the B10 but the replay officials almost never overturn a call unless it's like I said, blatantly obvious. The call on the field is the result WAY too often even when it's obvious to most everyone what the call should be. Apparently those in the replay booth see it as a chance to not piss off their official buddies on the field. The NFL replay seems more concerned about getting the call correct.

Close call. Could have gone either way. Not enough from the replay to overturn.
Dumb question. The goal line is maybe 6 inches wide. What does it mean to break the plane of the end zone? Any part of the 6 inches or all the way past the 6 inches?
This may have been a play where the ball got to the middle of the line.

Just has to break the plane. I think it probably did...much more likely it did than it didn't before the fumble. What they probably saw as doubt was whether the ball was loose on the way to the goal line...didn't appear to be but the dud had dark gloves on a dark ball...just saying...in a court of law you would have had a hung jury 11-1. Sucked for PSU. I feel really bad for them. Not.Shut the fuck up Donny!

WM has pointed out the problem with video replay in the college game. Too many times calls are not overrruled when it appears pretty obvious to the fans and commentators that it should be. Replay officials refuse to do so and thus no credibility. The worst was several years ago when Oregon kicked an onside kick and not only did the video show conclusively that the ball did not go ten yards, Oklahoma actually recovered. the on field officials called it a legit kick and that Oregon recovered. Oregon went on to win. That blown call cost Oklahoma a shot at the BCS championship. We as fans know that the standard is "undisputable evidence" We've had that pounded into our head by the talking heads. Problem is that "undsputable evidence" means something different to each replay official. Total lack of confidence in the system. As for the claim that Big replay officials are hesitant to overrule on the field officials. I beg to differ. two calls last year were overruled that should never have been under the "undisputable evidence " rule. MSU's hail Mary against Wisconsin and Toussant's late TD against OSU.

Overall, replay has done more harm than it has done good in the college game. That is mostly because of execution not concept. The NFL seems to get something out of it. No mystery why CFB has not. But I don't think it was as big an issue in the Neb/PSU game that it is being made out to be.
I'm kinda with Wiz on this. The call on the field was what the replay officials went with because there wasn't enough in my mind to turn it over. I think someone sid it was 50/50. WHen you have that situation, you go with the ruling on the field.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Wiz can keep being Karl Rove about this or not. It's not really debatable. The replay refs blew this one.
