And I would travel for a Thursday night game. That's just me.

And I would too, most of the time. And if I had to, I suppose I could get used to it, but I still think it has waaaaaay too many drawbacks.
I'd have to completely revise my routine, skipping a lot of the things I enjoy, miss seeing many of those I often tailgate with whether they are at Scio Church Road or the golf course, whether they are there weekly for the entire day or just stop for maybe 10-15 minutes as they circulate from one tailgate to another.
I could go on-and-on, but other than maybe as a home opener the Thursday prior to Labor Day weekend, I am completely opposed to Michigan Football being played on any day/night other than Saturday.

Sure, I like watching mid-week college football, too, but leave that niche to the MAC and WAC and Sun Belt and other conferences that don't matter.

I like Rob's view..... fits mine pretty well. But then we are old school.
JRB points out that TV contract details and revenue are going to drive the decision on mid-week games for the B1G probably a shade more than the views Rob and I hold which also probably reflect those of guys like Delaney, Presidents, and ADs who are in our age group.
I also agree stadiums will be filled and fans will be enthusiastic for any B1G game on a Thursday. I could get used to it.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. Nebraska paid over 3M less because we were smart enough to give notice before July 1....and had better lawyers.
*************
Missouri's and Texas A&M's price tags for leaving the Big 12 will be $12.41 million each, the conference announced on Tuesday.
In the fall of 2010, both schools announced they would be leaving the Big 12 on July 1, 2012. Big 12 bylaws state that universities that provide less than 12 months' notice are subject to having 90 percent of their conference revenue withheld. That total was estimated at nearly $30 million for each school, but lawyers for both sides settled on $12.41 million.

The Big 12's new television contract with Fox Sports will activate on July 1, 2012, and Missouri agreed to waive all benefits from the conference's new deal, according to the release. Texas A&M, however, will receive a portion of the benefits from the contract.
Missouri agreed to pay the Big 12 Conference approximately $500,000 for its share of the actual cost of officiating expenses for the 2011-12 athletic year as it has done in previous years.
"This agreement was accomplished through a collegial, respectful process among the Conference, its institutions, and the University of Missouri that led to a resolution that all parties believe is fair," Big 12 commissioner Chuck Neinas said in the release.
"We appreciate the Big 12 working with us on a quick and amicable settlement," said Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin, who indicated that the bottom-line financial impact of the withdrawal settlement will be $9.31 million.
"On behalf of Texas A&M University and Aggies worldwide, I would like to thank the Big 12 and its member institutions for the many memories over the past 16 years. We value our ongoing academic and athletic relationships with Big 12 members, and it is our hope to continue many of our longstanding athletic rivalries in the future," Loftin said.
In 2010, it cost Nebraska and Colorado just over $9 million and $6 million to leave the conference, but they gave the Big 12 more than 12 months' notice before leaving. According to Big 12 bylaws, Nebraska would have owed the Big 12 nearly $20 million, but the Huskers settled on their new number as well.Grammar... VT season ticket holders...
They have been notified that there will be a new/change in ticket holder seats for this year. (the last time this happened was in2005) All season ticket holders that are Hokie Club members go first and are grouped in 15 groups. Ticket holders that have been holders since the stadium was built go first, and then 2-15 are compiled by donation amount and longevity matrix. They will be given a pin by the University to use in a practice setting for the month of March. The holder can go to the website and login and identify seats and combination of seats. In April they will be given a date and a realtime pin and be given 4 min. time frame where they are the only person in the system, and can pick their seats. The University hopes to do 80 persons per day.

That's right ...... I was on a rotation in some podunck hospital in SEC territory and the only one watching this game on some odd channel. Amazing come back ....... Navarre????
If it was JN, this was classic Carr. Don't do anything to win the ball game until you absolutely have to. Funny thing was, the ol' curmudgeon had some excellent come back games but God I hated that style of play.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished.
