My wife (App State grad) and I went to Clemson for the game Saturday.

Man, Dabo had Clemson ready to play and they kicked the ever living dog shit out of App State. It was a perfect get-right game for them after the disaster in GA. In the middle of the first qtr I told my wife that they could put 100 points up if they wanted and then predicted 73-17. Final was 66-20. Clemson let off the gas in the middle of the 2nd qtr and played 2nd and third stringers most of the game.

We had good seats, 11 rows up at the goal line.

Things of note:

Clemson is really good, with a ton of talent all over the field. Don't sleep on them. They are going to make some noise.

There is a huge difference between group of five and big time football. Clemson's third string is bigger, faster and stronger and overall more athletic than App's starters. It looked like the varsity playing the JV.

Death Valley is an amazingly loud venue. The stadium is built down in a hole. At the beginning of the game I told my wife it was the loudest stadium that I have ever been in, even though there were some empty seats. Of course, that didn't last long as the obvious blowout quickly took the steam out of the crowd and people were leaving before the half.

It was a good game day atmosphere and we had a good time.
