  • Yeah that was almost an all-time choke by Washington.

You’re correct that Washington was foolish to pass the ball on 3rd down on that series. It saved Texas 40 seconds or a timeout. On Washington’s last series, the Dillon Johnson injury gave Texas 30 extra seconds. Washington then roughed the punt returner and gave Texas a free 15 yards.

I honestly thought Texas would win when they got down to the Washington 12 yard line. Credit to Washington’s defense for holding after 4 additional plays. Clutch.

    • Harvard's Tim Murphy is retiring after 30 seasons. Probably the most successful Ivy League coach since the conference dropped out of Division 1. Al Bagnoli is he only guy maybe close. Pretty sure Murphy turned down opportunities to work at a bigger profile program over the years.

                    • The Heisman Trust is returning Reggie Bush's trophy and allowing him back in the club. It was stupid to take it away in the first place. It's not like he brutally murdered two people or anything.

                        • Ex-FSU QB Marcus Otzen dies at age 46. Way too young. He started in place of the injured Chris Weinke in the very first BCS championship game against Tennessee (Vols won).

                          • Conference USA is adding Missouri State in 2025, bringing football membership up to 12.

The realignment in the minor conferences is almost impossible for me to keep track of anymore. But this is apparently who CUSA is nowadays. Half the league was in FCS just a couple years ago:

                            UTEP (2005)
                            Florida International (2013)
                            Louisiana Tech (2013)
                            Middle Tennessee (2013)
                            Western Kentucky (2014)
                            Jacksonville State (2023)
                            Liberty (2023)
                            New Mexico State (2023)
                            Sam Houston State (2023)
                            Kennesaw State (2024)
                            Delaware (2025)
                            Missouri State (2025)
