  • Another shitty rule change to pile on top of every other shitty change that has been rammed down our throats as collge football fans.

Welp, they have finally done it. They have finally killed my interest in the sport. The past few weeks, I have only watched Michigan, plus a couple of B1G games. I no longer give a shit about the sport and next year I might not even watch Michigan. I have wondered for years what my breaking point would be, and I found it. Maybe I should thank them for breaking my addiction, freeing up my time on Saturdays, and allowing me to accumulate marital capital.

I'll watch Michigan this weekend, probably on delay. If it turns into a body bag game, I'll fast forward through the other team's possessions. I might watch ND vs. OSU. In prior years, I would have made it a point to watch a few others, like Iowa-Penn State and Colorado-Oregon. But not now. Don't care. Other than Michigan and maybe a little bit of the B1G, the sport is dead to me now.

I got married 17 years ago. I made sure that the wedding and honeymoon were complete before college football season started that year. It has taken less than two decades to destroy something that I used to follow religiously.

    • Up to a year ago, I started booking travel during more than 1/2 of M's 2023 season. That was an impulsive reaction to what the unregulated portal and NIL had done to CFB. I didn't pay much attention to the then emerging contracts with FOX, CBS and NBC that would push ABC/ESPN out of the BIG - a plus, IMO.

I was in the stadium for the night game v. BGSU. Clearly, the athletic department had planned for all the commercial breaks. During these 2:50 breaks, veterans were honored, BIG Champion Teams got recognized and a couple of games for dollars involving students either throwing a football into trash barrels about 15y away (impossible - should have been target hoops that QB practice with), carching punts from the punt machine and a Frisbee catching black lab. The new lighting actually produced a pretty cool light show.. But none of that erased the aggravating full media time out in the 4th quarter with 11 seconds left on the clock. When play resumed, M ran the victory formation and headed for the locker room. It was the cherry on the top of CFB's finger to fans who are sick and tired of the interruptions in a football game. .

I'm done watching live. There are plenty of full game replays available where you can fast forward through commercial breaks. There are even "All the Offensive" and "All the Defensive" plays out there. I like Inside Michigan Football available on Sundays and I enjoy the analysis of the games the following week available on plenty of M football web sites. I have tickets for the M OSU game. I'm not going to go. Its cold, with the probability of bad wx high and the cost of R/T flights from FLL to DTW not cheap during Thanksgiving weekend. I'll pass.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

        • Yep, the guy I hate the most at any game is that fucker that brings out the electronic clock sign and tells me it is going to be 3 fucking minutes of sitting there waiting for the commercials to end before they run another play.

On top of that, one of the things that made college football great was the ability of teams to come back from large deficits. Changing the clock stoppage rule will curtail that ability.

                  • Fact is, if you're playing the game to gain respect, you're playing for the wrong reason. Does anyone believe that yesterday's losers now "respect" the teams that beat them yesterday? Heck no. Notre Dame doesn't "respect OSU right now. If anything, they hate them more than ever. OSU doesn't "respect" Michigan for beating them the last two years. It only fuels their flames of hatred toward Michigan.

You play the game to win. You gain respect for yourself and your teammates by how you prepare for, and play the game. That's the only respect that's involved. Opponents (especially heated opponents) are NEVER going to respect you. Never. Forget it. Get over it.

                      • Looks like YouTube TV has a new spokesman lol - Detroit Freep...

Jim Harbaugh reached a state of nirvana watching college football Saturday, thanks to YouTubeTV.

The streaming service's quick navigation between games on a moment's notice and ability to watch multiple games at once has made it popular with football fans this year and has now won over Michigan football's coach.

Harbaugh told reporters Monday he was "in hog heaven" Saturday night

“My wife got this YouTube TV. Like half the price of DirecTV, no offense DirecTV. We’re over there at YouTubeTV now,” said Harbaugh. “There must be 150 games to watch, so I’m in hog heaven Saturday night watching those games. Watching a lot of them. And then you can go back and watch them again, if you didn’t watch the one, it’s taped for you right there.”

                          • Not only is Oregon racists for beating Colorado, but are cheaters too! Yep everybody knows if there wasn't a conspiracy between all the ole white coaches sharing information on how to beat Colorado the Buffaloes would have won that game.

Keyshawn Johnson- "I spoke to some people in the coaching fraternity... They said,'I heard from another assistant coach about how much information was being given to Oregon's staff so they could beat Colorado"

                              • So Hollywood #1 Buffs vs Hollywood #2 USC

Even with an early kickoff time of 9 a.m. PT and the many celebrities in the stands - LeBron James, Jay Z, Matthew McConaughey, and the return of Lil Wayne just to name a few

Poor Colorado, everyone is racist and rooting against them, though I do hope they can pull an upset Fuck USC! I saw Lincoln Riley showing off his Hollywood Mansion and wanted to puke, I'm sure it will be replayed on Gameday ESPN. I know CF HCs (besides Jim HARBAUGH!) live in copious amountsofall things luxury, ostentatious M'Fer's make me sick. lol

Another hard one to watch, hate both - USC more for sure.
