  • Whatever plays out, if it puts pressure on the current system, it's a good thing.

Also what if Arkansas beats LSU in a couple of weeks? Total bedlam (Arkansas's only loss was to Alabama)

Oklahoma's home loss to a horrible Texas Tech team is better than a 3point OVERTIME loss to the #1 team in the country how?
Florida's 10-point loss at Auburn was better than Michigan's 7 point loss to OSU in Columbus how?

The SEC already set the precedent that a rematch in the MNC game is this horrible, terrible thing that should never happen because it would cheapen the championship game and in fact, the very college football season itself.

Alabama had their chance, by SEC logic. That's the bed they made, now they should be forced to lie in it.

      • Yes, that's precisely it. But will they, or will the rest of the CFB world stand up to them? One hopes so. It's quite amazing how the SEC makes some of the other conferences' key schools look like they actually have a bit of integrity.

        • Alabama is solidly #3 in the BCS now (computers love them), voters would have to skip Oklahoma over them by a wide margin in that scenario

          • That's what happened in 2006. Michigan was solidly #2 at the end of their season. Then the SEC coaches manipulated the poll to make sure that Florida got in.

Alabama 100% doesn't deserve a rematch with LSU. 2006 set it in stone--no rematches. Any rematch makes this season fraudulent (as if every season with the BcS isn't a fraud).

            • Yeah, if Oklahoma beats Okie St. and their conf. championship game voters would likely stick them in despite Alabama being the better team.

              • I don't think the Big 12 has a conference championship game anymore, do they?

                • Uh.. there is no "conference championship" for the winner of the OU/OSU game. Merely calling it the "Big 12" doesn't make it so. (sorta like guys who exaggerate the length of their dick)

They probably don't cheat, but they have a program loaded with Jucos. They bring in more Jucos in one year than Michigan probably ever has.

                          .

Realistically, though, what choice do they have? It's not like there was ever any "tradition" at KSU; prior to Snyder's arrival, I think the winningest coach in school history had something like 36 or 38 victories---whereas Snyder is now well over 100 wins.

Not to mention that Manhattan, KS is a far cry from Manhattan, NY---kind of in the middle of nowhere on the road to nowhere.

                          • Alabama, which lost to LSU the previous Saturday, is No. 3 and back in position to play in the BCS title game if LSU or Oklahoma State slips up down the stretch.

After some top teams lost their first games of the season Saturday, the BCS puzzle looks a lot simpler.

No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Oklahoma State are the only teams with perfect records remaining from BCS automatic qualifying conferences.

                            BCS Standings

The top five teams in the BCS standings:
                            LSU
                            Okla. State
                            Bama
                            Oregon
                            Okla.

Alabama, which lost to LSU the previous Saturday, is No. 3 and still in position to play in the BCS title game if LSU or Oklahoma State slips up down the stretch.

That, and the fact Kansas has an extensive network of junior colleges which attract a great deal of talent from around the country. It'd be stupid to have all those players in your backyard and just ignore them.
