In a 12-team, not all conference champs should get in. Just the P5.
Well, yeah. I don’t count the others.
And the 4 byes this year would have been: Georgia, Michigan, Clemson, Utah. Still would have been Michigan - Bama in the 2/7 game, tho. Hard pass for me.
Some people want all conference champs to get in (like the basketball tourney). For example, with 12 spots: five P5 champs, five G5 champs, and 2 wildcards make the field.
If memory serves, CGVT used to propose that set up and I’m wildly opposed.

Yeah, that's right. And honestly it should be the 4 highest ranked teams get byes. You need fair brackets. The NCAA doesn't hold out the #1 seeds for conference champs only when it comes to March Madness. The idea that Clemson and Utah would get byes ahead of Ohio State, Alabama and, shit, TCU -- that's ridiculous and creates a bizarre bracket where it's better to be the 5 or 6 than it is to be the 2.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
White rushed for 6,245 yards and 59 touchdowns in four years with the Trojans
White was so great that he once picked up the entire goal line in the Rose Bowl, and moved it 2 yards, so that he could score a touchdown at the two yard line. Nobody has ever done that since.
Charles White made me cry for the first time as a result of an OSU loss when I was 6. That fucking 1980 Rose Bowl started a long slog of misery. And, just as it was today, Ohio State's red zone incompetence -- in particular, inside the 10 -- cost them the win and national title in that game, gifting a national title to an SEC team.. I'm almost 50 now and nothing has fucking changed. Damn this fucking shit all to hell.
