I agree 8 should be the number. Although, 12 gives us games at campus sites which I think will be fucking awesome.

I think you'll see some 12-5 and other early round upsets, but nothing beyond that. It is just too long a row to hoe for a low seed/inferior team to make it to the championship game, let alone win it.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

How will the scheduling work? The CCGs are the first weekend in December. Assuming you want to incorporate the bowls as part of the playoff around New Years, there isn't much of a break, if any. I guess one off week before the on-campus games so this year it would be CCGs on 12/3, first round on or about 12/17, quarters on or about 12/24, then the semis on New Years like it is currently. This is gonna but some cool shit.

12 is too far to the extreme IMO. Do we really need to give teams of the quality like Clemson, Utah, Tulane, and K-State an opportunity? Nah.

What astounds me re CFB at the moment is that Ohio State is currently a much better bet to win the CFB than EITHER TCU or USC. And keep in mind, Ohio State specifically needs USC to lose AND they'd have to beat Georgia and HARBAUGH!!!! And there's zero fucking chance of either one of those things happening, let alone BOTH. JFC.
And, yet, Vegas still very much thinks OSU has a way better chance than TCU or USC. Hell M is only twice as likely according to the odds. Georgia, of course, is over 60% per implied odds.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
