    • Oklahoma State largely stopped playing at halftime but still, nice second half effort from CMU tonight

      • In the "I'm glad this game is over" category, Oklahoma State held on for a win against Central Michigan in Stillwater tonight 58-44. After leading 44-15 at the half, and seeing most Oklahoma State fans heading for the parking lots, Central Michigan outscored the #12 Cowboys 29 - 14 in the second half, making things very uncomfortable for the Cowboys at the end.

CMU quarterback Daniel Richardson was 36/49 for 424 yards with 4 TD's and 1 INT. I was at the game last year where Richardson became the starter. He took over for a CMU QB that was struggling, and has never looked back. Lew Nichols only had 51 yards rushing. He was the #2 rusher in the nation last year.

Jim McElwain has the Chips playing good ball, it seems.

        • Sorry, Strangelove .. cross posted.

Central is my 2nd favorite CFB team in Michigan.

          • They played really well in the 2nd half. Believe they ended up with more yards than oSu by the end.

            • Tough loss for WVU in the revival of the Backyard Brawl tonight, 38-31. Very entertaining game but WVU lost on a pick-6 late in the 4th. Pitt claims this was the largest crowd they've ever had at a home game.

              • That was a very entertaining game, particularly for week one. Those both might be pretty good teams. C.J. Donaldson for West Virginia looked damn good. As the announcers rightly pointed out, that conservative 4th and one call with six minutes left blew up in WVU's face.

                • Checking in on Minnesota before I sign off and they have outgained New Mexico State 430-52 through three quarters. NMSU has 2 first downs. They’re a bad team but still…

                  • Jerry Kill's trolling of PJ Fleck appears to have been ill-advised.

                      • My God, you're still alive. Actually, after the last couple of years, I'm kind of amazed any of us are still alive.

                        Sad, really...

                        • Yes, still alive.

I actually quoted you a few months back. Your “not every hook deserves a fish” line.

Anyway, good to read you again. Post more, you offer a check to Talent’s addle-brained ramblings.

                          • Well, I'll be here this weekend, and then I'm heading out of the country for a couple of weeks for a much-needed vacation. I'll try to keep up while I'm away.

As for Talent's ramblings, they're best checked with a sharp blow from a polo mallet. I live in hope.

                            • Yes, hope springs eternal. I wish it would spring out from a dark alley with the polo mallet you speak of.

Jerry Kill is a doggone good football coach.

                                PJ Fleck is Harold Hill.
