    • Boise State has bowed out of the Arizona Bowl, where they were supposed to play Central Michigan on Friday. CMU arrived in Tucson on Sunday evening, and has expressed an interest in playing another opponent. There's a possibility that CMU may head to the Sun Bowl to play Washington State, who was left without an opponent after Miami (FL) checked out due to Covid issues.

COVID-19 issues within the Boise State football program forced the Broncos to withdraw from the Arizona Bowl, the school's athletic department said on Monday, and hours later, Central Michigan also withdrew to join the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

          • t's official: Central Michigan will play Washington State in the Sun Bowl on Friday. Really happy for CMU and that the Sun Bowl organizers didn't fold in the face of "the surge."
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

            • Rose Bowl game is the best bowl game outside of the Playoff games. Despite having an advantage when it comes to stakes, the Orange and Cotton bowl games can’t compare to the atmosphere of Pasadena/ Rose Bowl.
It’s a privilege for any team to play there. If people can’t see that, it’s borderline delusional IMO.

That said, I’m quickly losing interest in the college football postseason for obvious reasons.
+ perhaps M and Georgia fans make the Orange bowl atmosphere pretty cool.

I would have loved to see Michigan head to the Rose Bowl as a consolation prize during all those years when we had to watch OSU and MSU head off to the playoffs after losing to them. That's not possible under today's rules, but I would have enjoyed seeing Michigan play in Pasadena instead of heading off to Orlando/Tampax/Jacksonville.

                • The Rose Bowl still maintains its Big Ten/PAC 12 affiliation when the game is not part of the CFP. So two-thirds of the time its still a traditional matchup. This year, the PAC 12 champ didn't qualify for the playoff so they are going to the Rose Bowl. The Big Ten champion DID qualify for the playoff so the Rose Bowl selected the second best option out of the Big Ten. Had we lost to OSU, I believe it would be Michigan playing Utah in the Rose Bowl. Here's Harbaugh's previous "good" seasons at Michigan, who went to the Rose Bowl, and where Michigan ended up. Generally speaking, you still need to play your way into the Rose Bowl. Either by winning your conference or coming damn close.

In 2015 MSU won the Big Ten and made the playoff. Big Ten runner-up Iowa went to the Rose Bowl and played PAC 12 champ Stanford. Michigan went to the Citrus.
In 2016 Penn State won the Big Ten and went to the Rose Bowl and played PAC 12 champ USC. Michigan went to the Orange Bowl.
In 2018 OSU won the Big Ten and went to the Rose Bowl and played PAC 12 champ Washington. Michigan went to the Peach Bowl.
In 2019 OSU won the Big Ten and made the playoff. Big Ten runner-up Wisconsin went to the Rose Bowl and played PAC 12 champ Oregon. Michigan went to the Citrus.

                  • Holiday Bowl tonight has been called off because of UCLA having too many players with covid

Auburn lost to Houston...does that make the SEC 0-4, if you count A&M as a "forfeit?

                    • Damn. I used to like college bowl games. Now? Bowl season is all depressing outside of a few games.

                      ...

                      Alabama almost lost to Auburn.
                      Cincinnati comfortably beat Houston.
                      🤔
Ok, so some context. Auburn was down 10 scholarship players who played in the Iron Bowl. Still... I say the SEC is 0-4.

                            • No idea how Purdue is in this game considering the players out. Karlaftis, Bell, and a few others. O'Connell has a few mistakes, but is playing well considering what he has to work with in this game.
Tennessee is so bizarre. They look elite at times, terrible on other plays.

Finish strong Purdue. Boiler Up. Pull out a miracle win.

                              • Crazy game. Tennessee sure seemed to mis-manage the play calling on that last drive. Why take two deep shots when 10-15 yds gets you a reasonable field goal attempt to win it?
