      • Also, Napier=Alireza Firouzja. Young, up and comer set to eventually challenge the throne -- sooner rather than later. M would be crazy not to throw a dump truck full of bullion at him.

No, no. Call them simply “Louisiana” - that’s what they informally call themselves and LSU absolutely hates it and tried to get them to stop by strong-arming them in the legislature.

Here is a meandering article in bad need of an editor that explains the situation:

          • And it’s funny you mention Firouzja. I just played over a dozen of his games last week in “New in Chess”.

                • Central beat Western, that damn botched snap against NIU is going to probably keep them out of Detroit in December.

                  • Principal apologizes after California HS beats opponent 106-0. They went for 2 up 104-0, lol. They were up 83-0 at half. Spurrier once said something along the lines of, ‘it’s the other team’s job to stop us from scoring, not mine.’

A Los Angeles high school is apologizing after facing criticism that its football team didn’t simply defeat an opponent but rather trounced the opposing squad by a score of 106-0.

                      • Honestly, if they were up 83-0 at half and “only” won 106-0, it actually does sound like the coach pulled them back. The 2-pt conversion to close the game was a bit much, but conducting an “investigation” seems a bit much. Here are the results of the investigation: the other team sucks.

                        • Correct.

I hope OSU doesn't go for two tomorrow when they are up 104-0.

Isn't there some team in D-II or D-III that's known for always going for 2?

                            • Dunno about that but I know Oregon used to do that a lot.
