    ...

    Much better week of college football games outside of not having any watchable Thursday and Friday night games.

    College Football Week 9 (What to Watch)
    Thursday:
    - Nothing relevant.

    Friday:
    - Nothing relevant.

    Saturday:
    Noon Slot
    - #6 M at 8 MSU. Game of the week, duh.
    - #9 Iowa at Wisconsin. Doubtful that any other noon game is worth remote switching, but worth it to be aware about this game because the winner could win the B10 West.
    - Texas at #16 Baylor. Texas could knock off a ranked team here.
    - Miami (FL) at #17 Pitt. Kenny Pickett. Pitt ACC champs?

    3 to 4pm Slot
    - #1 Georgia vs Florida. The game to watch unless there's a blowout. I have seen crazier things in sports than the idea of Florida upsetting Georgia here. Doubt it, but have seen crazier.
    - Purdue at Nebraska. Should be a close, fun, game on ESPN2 if Georgia vs Florida is a blowout.

    7 to 7:30pm Slot
    - #20 Penn State at #5 Ohio State. Penn State has the roster talent to make things interesting, but it seems like James Franklin is checked out and focused on LSU/ USC. Ohio State probably wins big.
    - #10 Ole Miss at #18 Auburn. More likely to be a close/ good game if Penn State vs Ohio State is a blowout.
    - North Carolina at #11 Notre Dame. Can Sam Howell upset #11 ND... that's the question. Could be a good game.

    10 to 10:30pm Slot
    - UCLA at Utah. Quality PAC 12 late game.
    - Virginia at #25 BYU. Watchable game. I'd guess this is Bronco Mendanhall's first game against his former BYU team.
    - Fresno State at #21 San Diego State. Brady Hoke's dream season could be in trouble because Fresno State is a tough opponent.

    • Gary Patterson out at TCU. Been there 20+ years

      • Darn. While TCU has been down for a few seasons and overall since joining the B12… good luck finding a better HC.

        Jerry Kill is the interim HC. For some reason, I thought he passed away or wasn’t coaching anymore. Interesting.

          • Patterson got involved in a bruhaha this year with SMU. He accused them of trying to plant a flag and knocking over Kill. Kill had a concussion but it seemed like he was knocked over by his own players.

            • Latest G5 rumor is that Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee are heading to the MAC. Would imagine they'll move Toledo to the East and the new schools get added to the West

              • WKU would dominate the MAC West.

                • Don't let Froot get under your skin Liney, well he cant now that you blocked him. He is a backhanded troll, who will only throw in a legit post when Sparty is up or Michigan is down. Hes the same way in the Red Wing thread, up there in the Lions half of the fourm.

                  I do miss the good old days with you and me and Charles Hardway. I guess you don miss the old me lol but G Gus too bad hes not around. Would love to see you have honest banter with him in today's much different B10.

                  Not sure if I'll watch anymore games, like I said it was a fun 7 weeks. Maybe watch the bowl game if it's not against Florida ....forchristsakes.

                  • Wings: I was truly sorry to hear of Charles' passing. He had actually mellowed out a bit toward the end, and he and I had some decent conversations. He actually had a pretty decent grasp of football knowledge, and when he was fairly calm, he could make very good arguments.

                    I utilize the ignore feature when its necessary. Others can do the same to me if they like. I'm fine either way. I'll never be nominated for a Pulitzer prize for what I write here.

                    I probably won't even watch the last two games for Michigan this season. I already know what's happening on the 27th, and we don't win bowl games anymore either. I'll probably watch MASH reruns. They have more suspense.

                    • Along with the news about the MAC possibly growing, Conference USA may try and save itself by adding two independents and two teams from FCS.

                      * New Mexico State
                      * Liberty
                      * Jacksonville State
                      * Sam Houston State

                      This would add further turmoil to FCS as two longstanding conferences down there are already on the verge of collapse: the Southland and the Ohio Valley Conference. Jax State and SHSU had defected from their previous conference to join a new FCS super-conference. If they instead jump up to the majors, that'll probably initiate more pillaging in FCS.

                      • Need to dump FCS. Either go FBS or Division II.

                        • I don't know what the composition would look like, but maybe the Ohio Valley and MAC could combine?

                                I’d rather jettison the G5 into FCS. There are not 130 teams worthy of competing at the top level.
