  • Peyton Manning is still a joy to watch play some times.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

    • I still think all times. One of my all time favorites.

      • Manning has the rare combination of being a very intelligent ballplayer, who has the physical attributes to do exactly what he wants, on any given play. Well, except for when he wants to scramble, ....

I've grown to respect Peyton Manning. He's a great athlete, and a fine man. He would have been a great Michigan Man.

Its a bit of a mixed blessing that he didn't come to Michigan. Had he come, we might not have gotten Tom Brady. But .. can you imagine what Manning would have done at Michigan over 4 years?

well...lloyd was still coaching ... so .. maybe he would have been turned into a blocking QB for the RB ... :p

        • Liney, noticed in Bronco/raven game tonight that the refs were patting down some of the players coming out of the team locker room. What for?

I didn't see it, but were they possibly checking to make sure that players were wearing hip and knee pads? The league made them mandatory this year

          • Looked to me like they were patting them down on the upper body too.

            • Those refs, their always looking for a cheap thrill.

              • We were talking about that tonight on our way to our game. One of my partners said the NFL is having the officials conduct random searches because there has apparently been some complaints about ballplayers spraying themselves down with silicone, or other slippery substances, to make them harder to tackle.

That's the story we've heard. Not sure if its true or not.

Yep. September through New Year's Day, at least.

                    • Denard (and the Jags) didn't do a thing today. 2 carries, 1 yard. However, Junior Hemmingway had a TD for the Chiefs in that game.

                        • The LyDowns choke again .. 25=21 to the crappy cardinals

William Clay Ford thanks you for your support, and laughs all the way to the bank at the sheeple who continue to buy his inferior football product.

                          • Yup.

You can thank people like all of the doofuses who celebrated the first win of the 2009 season as if the team just won the Super Bowl. Drug addiction counselors have a term for this phenomenon -- "Enabler".

                            • NOTHING will ever change with the LyDowns until the FANS stop going to the games, and stop tuning in on TV.

William Clay Ford understands ONE thing, and ONE thing only. Money. When that starts to dry up, it will at least get his attention. After that, you have to hope that he's smart enough to put sound football people in place to run his football team. His track record for the last 50 years is not promising.

The man absolutely refuses to build a Super Bowl caliber football team. He's content with mediocrity.

                              • If money ever becomes an issue, I think that WCF would move the team before he would ever make an effort to build a winner.
