They do run against that coverage and they do short passes. They have won the last two Superbowls so it's hard to argue with the approach.

The Chiefs might have a few long passes over the season but it's nowhere near what it was during the early Mahomes years. It's very evident if you look at yards per attempt. In his breakout season of 2018, he had a shocking 9.58 YPA with 50 TDs. This year he has been a pedestrian 6.80 YPA with 26;TDs.
He has become a great game manager out of necessity. They have a stout defense and he can make the winning play.Comment
