    • Regardless it is always a great day for America when the Cowboys lose.

The beautiful thing about the NFL is that bad salary decisions have consequences. It's the one fucking league where you absolutely CAN'T buy a title b/c of the hard salary cap.

        • You can't necessarily buy a title but you can mortgage your future for one like the Rams did. They are gonna be hot fucking garbage for the foreseeable future but they got a title out of it. Huge gamble that paid off in the short term.

          • Yeah, again, there are massive consequences to be paid in the NFL for big roster decisions. The Rams didn't buy a championship, they traded for one. Which, I guess, is the better than the Browns trading their future for a 4th place finish in the North. But the consequences are real and unforgiving for both.

You really can't game the system. You really can't. Every benefit carries with it a cost. It's not the "luxury tax" MLB or the "soft cap"/"players team up" NBA. It's the "hard cap motherfucker" league.

              • The irony of the Rams/Lions trade is that in the long run, it probably benefitted the Lions more. The Rams got their SB ring, but now its obvious that Stafford is on the downside of his career, and is terribly injury prone. He's got MAYBE 3 years max left as a player. Goff incredibly seems to be getting back to where he was with the Rams, which is a not bad QB.

Its even more amazing that the Lions appear to have actually made a good deal. I'm sure the Lions organization can still manage to foul things up, because its what they do best. But, for now, its not a bad deal.

That's the beauty of the trade. Both teams got what they wanted, I think. The Rams got a legit upper-tier QB for a team ready to win immediately. The Lions got draft picks and the bonus of a QB with lots of upside and, as has been the case since 1957, they weren't ready to win immediately. It's an almost perfect Win-Win, at least until the Lions find a way to convert it to a Win-Lose.

Just wait until the draft when they draft that 'phenominal' linebacker from SouthNorthWest Texas State Eastern, who looks great on film!

                      Super Bowl just ahead!!

                      • Jerry Jones hasn't been trying to buy a Super Bowl for a long time. They are pretty milquetoast in their free agent acquisitions and rely on a lot of homegrown talent. The Prescott contract is the price of doing business in the NFL. He may not be a top quarterback but good luck trying to find another quarterback if they had let him go.

I thought their offensive gameplan yesterday played into the 49'ers hands. The Niners were sitting on every route and the Cowboys responded by only taking two deep shots all game. Both times they were open but they only connected on one.

For all of the hubbub about Dallas, they have operated more like the Steelers or Packers than they did in the free wheeling 90s.

Anybody but the Eagles or Bengals.

                        • The Lions may screw it up, but this is the first playoffs where I see bunch of teams participating I know the Lions would have beaten.

                          • Thank god that at least Froot has taken up the cause against the Cincitucky twatwaffles that Dr. Strangelove so loves. JFC, man, have some goddamn pride. I mean, the one thing Clowns fans have going for them is a rabid hatred of life and bottomless resentment of anyone better off which is almost everyone. You used to be able to count on Clowns fans to hate Cincitucky, the Real Browns and the Stillers and just about anything else. Now Strangelove is out their sucking Bunghole cock and it's some of the most shameful shit I've ever witnessed.
