i dont know hw many watch the mannings on MNF but that clip of venatieri running down herscel walker and tackling him maybe the most impressive play ive ever seen a kicker make
I watched that last night.
The Manning brothers made a shitty football game entertaining. There is a lot of goofiness, but there is some pretty serious insight from a couple of damn good QBs as well.
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on
I need to start watching them because the primetime games have mostly been awful. MNF has been trash for years it seems. Sunday night has been the best night game of the week for a long time.
ABC essentially giving up on MNF might not have been been one of the signs of the Apocalypse, but it definitely was an indication that idiots had taken over the Disney empire.
Putting it on ESPN made Disney a boatload of money, the carriage fees increased a lot when that happened. Plus they got outbid by a hungry NBC for the SNF package. The reason the SNF games are the best is because that's what the league designed it to be, they de-emphasized MNF in favor of SNF so they could start flexing games.
I don't think the design of that play called for a cross-field pass back to the QB who, by rule, cannot throw the ball at that point. It was just a moronic decision by Meyers.
i can see something like a hook and lateral but that last ply in a tie game was just stupid. kinda like when belicheck went for it on 4th and 2 agains the colts deep in huis own territory
