      I hadn't thought of it that way. He did already miss one full season, and now they're adding 6 games into this season.

      Goodell will try to add more games to it because he's Goodell.

        The NFL is indeed appealing the suspension. They want him out for more games. I think this means Watson can technically play until the appeal is over. I have no idea how long that will take.

        Been telling people most of the NFL is pissed at the Browns and Haslam for giving him this insane contract.

            That's probably part of it but I'm telling you, the other owners are pissed at Haslam for giving the guy an insane contract and inflating salaries across the board. Led directly to Kyler Murray getting what HE got.

                      Except I'm pretty sure he got paid for last year because he was just "held out" of games. An actual suspension comes with a forfeiture of salary.

                          I'm pretty sure that the NFL wasn't willing to have Watson pay back his salary to count those games, either. The NFL needed a going-forward number.

                          I thought somewhere between 6 and 12 would happen. I would have gone with 8, but whatever.

                              No, it was a settlement. All parties consented to the terms. No one is happy.
