  • I had no dog in the fight, so it didn't really matter to me who won. The officiating didn't determine the game, but overall the crew stayed out of it, and let the teams play. One missed call led to a score that the Rams eventually overcame. Another questionable call helped the Rams at the end, but the Bengals were in that spot because they couldn't protect Burrow enough. Burrow won't be playing in 3-4 years from now if they don't find a way to protect him better. I didn't watch the halftime show. I tuned over to a "Cops" rerun.

Mildly interesting that the Rams took a former Lion player and did for him in one season, what the Lions haven't been able to do for 65 years. I wonder why that is?

    • Burrow got sacked 9 times against the Titans which tied a playoff record. Their OL has been a sieve all year.

I wish I would have done that.

That's the closest that sorry bunch will ever get to a Super Bowl unless they buy a ticket.

                    • Barry Sanders was one of the smartest guys to ever play for the LyDowns.

When he saw that the Lions had no intention of building a championship team around him, he quit. He decided he was tired of wasting his youth and his health playing for a team and organization that had no intention of ever pursuing a Super Bowl Championship.

Smart man. He walked away with his health, and a ton of money.

                      • It's not a surprise that a typical fair weather fan like lineygoblue doesn't have what it takes to be a Lion fan. He was a Michigan State fan in the 60s and a Michigan fan in the 70s. Being a Lion fan is tough, when the going gets tough he sprints away.

                        • Barry had a big hand in who they hired this time around, he has been around the franchise a lot lately. He's not a fair weather guy like lineygoblue.

                          • Liney is right, Barry was sick of the Lions, wanted to play for a contender. The facts are below.

Sanders has formally offered to repay his signing bonus if the Detroit Lions will release or trade him this season, according to his agent. The Lions have refused. David Ware, one of Sanders' representatives, told ESPN "I think he's ready to consider it, in the right situation. But the right situation is not the Detroit Lions. His career is finished there."

Sanders "definitely would return," if the Lions would accommodate him, a source close to the running back said.

Chuck Schmidt, the Lions' chief operating officer, told the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News that the Lions will not trade Sanders.

Being a Lions fan isn’t “tough”, it’s abject stupidity.
