I think far too much is made if kicking it deep. I generally hate squib kicks because you sacrifice crucial field position. Had they done so and KC started at their 40 instead of the 25, everyone would be saying the opposite. They still went 44 yards in 8 or 9 seconds and had 2 TOs remaining. The correct play is to make them go the greatest distance possible.

I think a squib kick is the automatic call, take as much time off the clock as possible If the squib kick is retuned to the 40 they have wasted a lot of time.

I would have kicked to the 10 or so. I think that’s the play. But, there were lots of options. Actually play press man and hold the shit out of WRs.

And, of course, the most realistic assessment is you don’t coach thinking you’ll give up 45 yards and in 9 seconds.

Holding is only flagged now when the ball is in the area of the hold. If its away from the ball, its ignored. We were told to bury the flag on holding away from the ball back in the 90's. Maybe Wiz can tell what they were told in college ball.

I’m talking about just flat out tackling the receivers at the LOS, take the penalty but burn whatever time the play took. When there’s 13 seconds left like KC had at their own 25, there’s not enough 5 yard penalties to get them into FH range. Turn it into end game basketball.

Some team made the tackling at the LOS a strategy at the end of the 1st half. I can't remember who it was. Trying to grab someone is pretty hard to do with someone like Tyreke Hill. It's probably easier to do that against college players.
