Good recap ...... for a homie.
On the PH thing. Good luck. Even in Carr's final game, yeah, that one against ufm and UF, where Harvin, although injured I believe, was a non factor.
I am a power offense convert. I'm glad some other team is experimenting with spread concepts using a speed or slot type back ...... the PH or whatever you want to call it.
I have some experience in recognizing any of the happy horse shit associated with most spread teams just doesn't work real well against above average to excellent defenses. But go for it. Mattison is going to be looking forward to an opportunity to punk his former boss.
Noah Spence? I should worry about him? Well see. Sounds like a one man wrecking ball to me on an otherwise uninspiring D, that is, if your description of it is accurate. What happens when he gets doubled? Besides that one huge play Clowney had for sC, he was dominated by a rather average set of OLmen save Lewan who did do a good job with him when he lined up on his side. I think M's OL will do a good job against spence. So, yes, I'll remember his name. Well have some good times post The Game this season.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. WRT the PH-type, OSU's offense is balanced, yet. They already have a really good power running game. You were out of the country, I believe, so may not have seen Carlos Hyde run it up M's ass between the guards all day. 146 yards on 26 carries. In fact, after Garnder threw his interception, Ohio State killed off the final 4:30 inside the tackles.
The PH-type just adds another dimension to the offense. They lacked home run hitters, and, to a certain extent, still do, seeing as how true frosh aren't to be counted on.
Anyway, I saw M's OL up close, and they were shitass weak against OSU. I'm sure things will change.
BTW, if you're looking for OSU in the polls, try the top 3.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

In All seriousness, I think ufm is a great coach on a lot of levels. So is Rodriguez.
The NFL has had some luck with incorporating spread concepts but the speedy guys who play like Harvin did in ufm's offense at the NFL level are liabilities because the injury risk is so high.
Same thing with QBs like Denard. Great athlete but he is not going to be an NFL QB because of that reason - fragile.
I agree with you the Harvin type does add another dimension to any offense but to take advantage of guys like that, you need offensive linemen who can get down field. Those kinds of guys, unless they are interior linemen with NFL level skills, can't do that and, at the same time, run power football.
So, yeah, ufm is a great coach but I'm looking forward to the coming battles. For the first time in a decade or more, I see some reason to think Michigan is not going to get ass raped by osu on a regular basis ...... even though we all know full well tressel cheated his way to that outcome.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. OSU's defense was working against perhaps most criminally stupid offensive game plans in recent history and still struggled to pull that one out. You won't get that chance again, so breathe a sigh of relief that you didn't lose to an opponent that tied one hand behind its back and told you all about it in real time. And, prepare for the beatings to come. You won't get that kind of opportunity again.

Is the guy who created that criminally stupid offensive game plan still at Michigan? Is the guy who oversees the team and gave his stamp of approval to that game plan still there? This is the same cast that struggled to put away Luke Fickell's 6-7 team, correct? Your irrational optimism is duly noted.

I do agree that OSU didn't put away a game they dominated. Were probably an easy 17 points better on the day. Such is life. Fortunately, the team that was gads better is only getting better, while the team that wasn't isn't.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

You have a narrative of incremental improvement, yes. We have a big-step forward narrative, however, given that we're no longer the idiots misusing Denard Robinson. Coach and offense are now aligned. That's better than incremental improvement -- that's a giant leap. You had your chance to smack us last year, cause we're done tripping over our own selves and Mattison has some serious upperclassmen now. No more smoke and mirrors on defense. Sucks for you. Looking forward to being classy hosts this November!

That big step forward thing didn't work out too well with Rodriguez.
Certainly, this is different sort of step but one that nonetheless is a big step to a new offense. Those are always tough. The good thing is that Hokeorges did run parts of it in 2012. So, that's a plus. So is having an experienced QB that seems to be a pretty good fit for what Borges is looking to do.
But Im not not at all overly optimistic. More wait and see.
Incidentally, in AA today w/intent to watch the spring game but, it's cold wet and raw. I think a few beers, a fire and BTN stream will be fine. BTN will also air the whole practice at 9p tonight.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. I'm not sure if Hack has actually talked himself into believing that.
Have a good time, Buchanan. Sucky weather -- froze my ass off on my bike this morning. Stay inside, enjoy some good company and a few beers. And tell Sean he better get his shit together in NASCAR.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
