But I base my insanity on fact, and not conjecture.

Coach Hoke took a team that was a Josh Groban singing, bowl-losing, 7-6 joke the year before he arrived, and turned them into a 11-2 BCS bowl-winning, OlieO beating, winner. That's quite an accomplishment. This year's team took a step back in the area you consider most important, but still handled one of the nation's toughest schedules well, and if not for key injuries, would have been playing in the conference championship game. OlieO can make no such claim. They were dispatched to the sidelines due to their affinity for cheating.

I also get it that you only measure coaching success in terms of national titles and conference championships. I get it that how a coach got his team there is of no consideration as well. The old Oakland Raiders mantra of "just win baby", is alive and well in Columbus. Walking the NCAA rules tightrope is the roadmap for success, and anyone not following that roadmap still needs to prove themselves. I got it.

          • Of course Miller is likely enrolled in the New & Prestigious Urban Meyer Family Management Program, you and I know it better as "Being a Dad".

Naturally Urban personally revamped the entire curriculum, no sense letting a pesty education get in the way of football. As a result in your free time, you primarily study online or via correspondence which obviously means from the cozy confines of your favorite Columbus cathouse, Jimmy Tressel's legacy shall never die.

Last, Miller was injured nearly every game last year, even a trip or two to the hospital, doubt his luck holds.

            • I was trying to figure out why you're taking time from Agua Gold pursuits to take issue with a man who you know will dominate the B10. Then, it struck me -- with M's humiliating loss to PSU, we can officially call it another season with no outright conference titles for M in either football or basketball. That's 9 straight years and 18 total seasons without a single outright conference championship in either major sport. 0 for 18. I guess that could get frustrating.

If it makes you feel any better, in those 18 seasons, Ohio State has only won 8 outright titles -- so not even half. Now, they do have 2 additional shared hoops titles, so it's not like they're below a 50% title win percentage overall. So, there's still room to improve.

              • Perhaps you will find your answer in Ridley Scott's fictional portrayal of the Crusades in Kingdom of Heaven.

I normally do not quote Arab Terrorists, but Saladin is spot-on with respect to Jerusalem.

You see, many college football purists feel the same about the only game that matters in America.
