  • I don't usually post facts to "fool" anyone. Though, I can see how that might trip up M fans.

    • I hate to lose this stuff too far down thread. The Kyle Kalis interview still makes me laugh.

Tremendous: Does that make you feel better about choosing Michigan?

Kyle: Yeah. It's fuel to the fire baby. November 24th is going to be ugly.

Tremendous: I know the answer, but why is it going to be ugly?

Kyle: There will be blood on the field and it won't be mine.

Tremendous: Thank you for the epic quotable that people will talk about for a long time now, Kyle.

      • I also like to remind folks of the non-exhuastive list of FACTS that make Ohio State the indisputable FLAGSHIP:

*Ohio State has won B10 football championships in 6 of the past 8 years. And, of course, was by far and away the best team in the league this season.

*Ohio State has won B10 regular season championships in 5 of the past 7 years. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll get to the lofty 6 of 8 football has established.

*Ohio State has won B10 tournament 3 times in the past 7 years. No other B10 school has won it more than once.

*Since 2005, Ohio State has won 11 football/basketball championships in 15 tries. Michigan State and Wisconsin are second with 4 total championships, followed by Penn State, who won 2.

*Ohio State remains the ONLY B10 schools to even play in a BCS Title game. They've done it 3 times.

*Ohio State has been to two Final Fours in the past 7 years. The rest of the B10, i.e., MSU, has been to 2.

Ohio State's dominance in the revenue sports is indisputable. Total domination.

But in non-revenue sports, Ohio State fairs nearly as well.

*Ohio State has been the highest ranked B10 school in the Sears Director's Cup 4 times since 2005 (4 out of 7).

*Ohio State has finished in the top 4 each of the past two years and hasn't been outside the top 12 in any season since 2005.

*Ohio State offers 36 varsity sports, the most in the country.

        In AD-related current events:

*Ohio State is taking a somewhat controversial step to monitor players: http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/21389278/is-checking-on-players-accounts-going-too-far-not-at-ohio-state
*Ohio State is likely to be a preseason top 5 if not top 2: http://www.athlonsports.com/college-football/very-early-college-football-top-25-2013

Finally, Brady Hoke, as of today, has still yet to win a conference title as a head coach. 10 years and counting: [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brady_Hoke"]Brady Hoke - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

        Just the FACTS.

        FLAGSHIP.

          • They should be #1 today.

Had Tressel not screwed them with his cheating and lies, OlieO would have played ND for the MNC last night, and probably won.

Alabama would have been sitting at home crying in their own moonshine ...

            • Ohio State finishes #3 in the AP.
This is bullshit. If you weren't eligible for a bowl game or a CCG how can you be in the top 10. That's like getting a medal for staying home while the other troops went off to fight a war

Or perhaps had they not cheated and lied they wouldn't have had a few of those players who made them good on the field.

First, OSU was in the clear with Tressel. DiGeronimo got them the FtM which ultimately hosed them. Or rather, put the ball in Gene Smith's court, which means there's a 99% chance of total hosery.

Second, I'm not convinced OSU would have been ranked ahead of Alabama in the BCS. I don't know where OSU was in the computers, but it wasn't particularly good. I think they *might* have been a touch higher than Alabama in the human polls, but not enough to overcome the computers.

In any event, "could have beens" are for losers. No sense bemoaning a 12-0, top 5 season and an extremely bright future.

                      • ........ And here's hoping the bucks will get their pictures on the front page of SI for their predictable pre-season #2 ranking, right behind Bama.

Good things will always happen given that Albatross.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                          Easy. At Michigan.

Then, boy, at NW or at Cal. Cal will not be good, but those West Coast games are always a quagmire of mediocre to poor play. Then maybe Wisky at home?

I dunno....it's a shit easy schedule as it currently stands. Perhaps the B10 will rise up in 2013 and the schedule will get much trickier. Who knows.

Truth be told, if M can beat ND at home, they have the potential to start 8 or 9 and 0.

                            • Well, it's kind of the same thing.

OSU was undefeated because they didn't play anybody in '12, looks like the same will be said about their '13 opponents.

                              • For the record, I'd really like to correct this misconception, Ohio State gets an "incomplete" at best for 2012. Good start no doubt but it is sad that the nefarious criminal sanctions were not fully realized by Bucknut fans until their exhibition matches ended.

No CCG, no Bowl or BCS game to play, it's only 85.7% of a full season for 6 win or better teams. Sure there are a few that continue to pretend that 2012 was something special but the vast majority were left feeling or showing sorrow and regret for having done something very wrong.
