I'm just baffled. ohioans can simply dismiss (or blatantly ignore is more appropriately the case) the disgraceful behavior of the son's of their state. Especially the ones that stupidly decided to stay in that godforesaken place, don the scarlet and gray and coach in that Kremlin style monstrosity in c-bus.

When losers from ohio turn tail, I would expect the depth of their argument and the complexity of their case to be pretty lame.
    That's lovely, Jeff. Just beautiful.

I didn't realize the conversation was about which man was more likely to be mistaken for Mother Theresa. I thought we were talking football. I'll do research on who paid more hospital visits to sick kids and promised them game balls and shit.

    • I admire your spirit in the face of overwhelming odds.
      Overwhelming odds?

      Really?

I remind you that the longest that Urban Meyer has stayed in one HC position is six (6) years.

I don't see the odds as "overwhelming". I see ohio as a formidable foe for the next several years, but certainly not unbeatable.

Wait ... I forgot who I was talking to ...

You're right ... Michigan will never win a game ... ever again .....

      Urban promised ....

        • Man, you're just an ass. Eh, I tried. Guess you're too fucking bitter about being ass-raped for 10 years to actually be good-natured.

          Carry on.

          • I'm an ass? Why? Seriously -- in the context of trashtalk, what the hell relevance do Mayans have? But your anal obsession indicates that you know sexual references are a staple and perhaps even a key ingredient. I'm just playing by the rules. How's that make me an ass?

Dude, we're talking about football wins alright. The one's with integrity.

I don't remember Michigan football vacating an entire season because they cheated.

I don't remember a Michigan football coach who won games over osu by playing ineligible players that ultimately got caught taking benefits.

I don't remember putting a Michigan coach on the sidelines that blatantly lied to the NCAA and everyone else to cover his sorry ass.

I don't remember a Michigan coach in modern football history that was fired over his conduct or that was ever banned from coaching at the CFB level.

              Do you?
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

              • Dude, you won't even let me mock myself. I'm sure I don't need to explain the reference, but the fact you said that I had a "good idea" signaled the end of the world to me. Light-hearted joke at my own expense.

                Meh, whatever.

                  • Moeller resigning spared Michigan the trouble of firing him.

I don't recall an OSU coach having a former coach undermine him at every turn and an entire athletic department devolving into back-biting factions each bent on sabotaging the other's efforts and the program slipping into a catastrophic slide as a result.

And what does any of this have to do with Woody and Bo? Nothing. Bring in objective people, ask them who had the better career, they will say Woody. Admit it, move on.

Tony is honest. Why do so many others refuse to be?

                    • Tony's here to stir the pot, and kudos to him for playing a vital forum role. And to you too -- you're a dope, and that's also an important forum role.

                              Weak sauce, very weak.

Look, I suppose you could argue Moeller was "fired" in the loosest sense of the word, I'll give you that. I'll give you the shit storm that was the Rodriguez debacle and I'm not sure any M fan will ever understand the Jeckle and Hyde aspects of Lloyd Carr in this episode either.

But few football programs can demonstrate the firing record of its football coaches that osu can ..... going back to '54 or something like that.

Furthermore, you're really nibbling at the edges of my argument.

osu is a snake pit of cheating and the behavior of its players and coaches has not gone unnoticed on the landscape of college football. I'd much rather have a program that has a modicum of ethical behavior, a record of solid wins (best all time record in the NCAA I might add) rather than a pile of wins earned by cheating and unscrupulous behavior ..... but that's just me.

                              • To be a bit more serious and talk about firing..3 of the last 4 OSU coaches have been fired with Tressel's a forced resignation, so call it a firing too if you want. In at least 3 of those 4 the coach left the administration little choice. Earle Bruce was the only one who was handled shamefully and unjustly.

I think it's a bit of an exaggeration to say Michigan coaches go out on their own terms though. Bo did. Rich Rod was fired. Gary Moeller would have been fired if he hadn't resigned. I don't know the full story around Bump Elliott, but indications are largely that he was forced out or at the very least, highly "encouraged" to take an associate AD position.

That leaves Lloyd and it's probably a matter of interpretation on what happened there. There was certainly growing pressure for him to leave. I think it's a little ironic and odd that Carr probably now has a worse reputation and a worse relationship with the school/fanbase than any of OSU's fired coaches. I've said it before but it's to Woody and Bruce and Cooper's enormous credit that they don't appear to have ever held a grudge against or tried to interfere with their successor.
