  • Gee, Sean, it’s pretty nice to know (if not see) them crapping the bed and having the sheets among the dirty laundry that’s getting dragged out. Not to mention the absolute buffoonery of an endless game of defending the indefensible.

Not letting them skate would be kinda like being woken up in the middle of a good dream.

    • I'm going to air this because it deserves to be aired ......

talent is an overall good guy despite his association with the hated bucks but he is as much a buck fan as I am a Wolverine fan and for a lot of the same reasons. It's in his blood and the blood of most of his family members who I've met and are decent folk - for ohioans. He has to be just sick over what is going on at osu (good) and how he ever fell in-love with and married a Michigan grad is beyond me (I have to feel sorry for her) but ...

He has a terrific wit and if his arguments for his clients are as good as the ones he posts, I'd hire him in a minute to represent me in any legal matter where I needed to appear in a court room.

He bitches about my logic and "mays and mights" but it was from watching him that I developed a decent approach to internet posting that kept me from boxing myself in in any debate on any subject and from his sharp wit that I developed an approach to neg bombing stupid people making stupid posts effectively (sometime).

If you want to debate this fellow you better have your facts straight because he always does and will render any argument containing inaccurate information useless by calling you on it. I'm better at making a point because of that ..... I hate losing an argument!

So, not apologizing or anything, because I am absolutely positive that talent underestimates the corruption inside osu's football program, but I got on too high of a horse yesterday when I started smelling blood in talent's fading rhetoric in defense of his boys. It rarely happens that he misses a beat and I'm sure he's convinced he hasn't ... too bad for him, the deluded buckeye fan that he is. Heh.

For what its worth I hope he reappears ..... I have absolutely no doubt he will because its one of the few places he can argue on equal intellectual terms; we keep him sharp. I'll bet anyone here he'll show up if osu happens to win The Game in AA this year, if for no other reason, to make all of us who negged the crap out of him over the last few months eat a huge bowl of dick for doing it.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

      • He is a sharp guy, a Steelers fan, and much better than the great majority of fans from Ohio. Like I said yesterday, we are what we are. I hate Ohio and always will. Denial is normal. When that shitstorm was surrounding Rodriguez my inclination was to defend him because he was our coach. But you're right, people on the outside who are looking at osu objectively can see that there has definitely been something underhanded going on there for a long time.
I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

        • This reminds me of that bit from Seinfeld where Elaine tries to find "more to Newman than meets the eye".

What? WHAT? Have I taught you nothing, young Padawans?

If you hear and understand nothing else I say, hear this: Do not feel sorry for The Talent. Do not excuse The Talent. Do not in any way tolerate The Talent. Normal rules of civility do not apply in the case of The Talent. The Talent is the message board equivalent of Grigori Rasputin-- a mesmerizing trickster whose malign influence can bring about widespread corruption and sorrow. He cannot simply be ignored or banned. To combat his corrosive decadence, the posters of this board must virtually poison, shoot, stab, strangle, eviscerate, and drown him, and even then, we can only hope that effort is sufficient.

Do you believe for one second he has had any pity for Michigan in the Wolverines' many unfortunate hours in recent years? Did he not mock us relentlessly for our team's failures? It may appear at this time that the worm may be turning in this rivalry, but the pitiable Ohio State offense, and the increasingly hysterical nature of The Talent's posts, may be brilliantly devious efforts from the infernal Buckeye legions to breed a false sense of security in this nascent Michigan revival. The price of liberty, my friends, is eternal vigilance. Be vigilant, my friends, and freedom from Buckeye iniquity may yet be our reward.

                        • Posey gets 5 more and osu still doesn't get it. Apparently Smith doesn't have a problem with players committing multiple violations while in the direct center of a scandal. They are now "incensed":

The NCAA suspended Ohio State wide receiver DeVier Posey for five games Friday -- leaving him with only two regular-season games in his senior season -- and three other Buckeyes for one game for taking too much money for a summer job.

                          • Poster child for compliance. And that's on top of being a flagship. What an admirable institution.

                              • Most excellent recruiting enticement, "come to Ohio State and let the Coach and Athletic Director ruin your career because they just don't give a damn". Lack of institutional control and failure to monitor at it's finest.

Looks like the Flagship sprang a few more leaks and Smith's hubris is astounding. He's destroying their football program as the Trustees fiddle?
