Woodland Hills' Price not going to Ohio State
    Thursday, June 16, 2011
    Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Woodland Hills High School linebacker Ejuan Price has seen the turmoil surrounding the Ohio State football program and decided he doesn't want to play for the Buckeyes.
Price, who signed with Ohio State in February, has requested a release from his letter of intent with the Buckeyes. Woodland Hills coach George Novak said Price requested the release a month ago.
"He just didn't feel any stability there even before [Jim] Tressel resigned," Novak said.
Novak said Ohio State is supposed to let Price know Friday whether it will release him. Before Price chose Ohio State, his other top choice was Iowa, but he had other scholarship offers from Division I schools.
"He has some ideas, but if he gets his release I'm not sure where he would go," Novak said.

Still doesn't explain why the great tosu sent Fickell to recruit an inferior 3 star with bad grades. Like the fox said,"I didn't want those grapes anyway. They're probably sour."

      • Mike Hart is a pretty smart guy. Smarter than a lot of the Michigan fanbase, certainly. He knows that nothing the NCAA can do to Ohio State will ever take the sting away that he felt on the field. The NCAA can never undo the beatings he received, and the deep humiliations he felt.

He's got integrity, to his credit. He doesn't want to beat The Ohio State University when it's crippled, with its hands tied behind its back by the NCAA. He wanted to beat the best. Many Michigan fans lack Mr. Hart's integrity and for them, any win over The Ohio State University is a good win. For those fans it's: just win, baby.

If evil be demonstrated let it be proven. Scant little has been proven, methinks. Let us all agree that the NCAA is a fair judge and should we be absolved of most guilt, many a Wolverine owes their big brother institution an apology.

                O rly?

Don't get too giddy 'fore the eggs have hatched...sounds like the SI story had its fair share of holes...

And some may feel satisfaction from seeing The Ohio State University persecuted and wrongfully accused of malfeasance, but I know Mike Hart won't be one of them. I know the true, blue Michigan "men" will find any win over a crippled tOSU to be hollow as a kinesiology major's skull

Yeah, nothing can be proven. THAT'S why Tressel already quit. People always quit their multi-million dollar jobs when there is no evidence they did anything wrong.

                  • And your star quarterback NEVER quits and then makes a national apology for driving the program into the ground when there is no evidence there is anything wrong.

                          • What would the auto industry do without o-lie-o, seems as if everybody gets a free car there. Hmmm...

Ohio State compliance director gets a free car too

                            Doug Archie/Courtesy: dispatch.com

It must be nice to be in the compliance business.

We fully realize that big-time Universities have business arrangements with a variety of vendors and others within their communities. We also realize many employees, such as coaches and athletic directors and such often have Courtesy Car privilages written into their contract.

But it looks really odd, when the compliance director gets a car. Particularly at a school that seems to be having some issues with players getting the same treatment.

It may be totally above board and at some schools perfectly legitimate, but Ohio State compliance director Doug Archie, he gets a Courtesy Car.

And no, it doesn't come from one of the dealers at the center of the Terrelle Pryor investigation, but it does come from a dealership owned by a former player, who tells our friends at WBNS-TV, that he sometimes employes "Student-athletes" during the summer.

Hmmm. There are some serious conflicts of interest in this story--by that we mean the people involved. Yes, we readily admit, the car dealer in question, Miracle Motor Mart, may not be doing anything wrong. But it doesn't leave a particularly good impression either.

And no, Ohio State fans, this isn't ripping for the sake of ripping. Considering the perks that everyone OSU football seems to get, this is a legitimate questions. How can you tell kids not to take these kinds of deals, if you are taking them yourself.

Check out video, note former player selling cars for tickets.

                              Hmmmmmm ......

The NCAA does not need proof in the legal sense of the word to determine if osu violated rules regarding inappropriate benefits. It simply needs corroborated information, not adequately explained by osu officials, that players did receive inappropriate benefits.

Does anyone outside of ohio actually believe that some indeterminate number of osu players did not receive inappropriate benefits while enrolled at osu and on the football team?

Admittedly, one cannot use NCAA history to determine the level of punishment the osu football program will receive for this from the NCAA. My view is that it is not going to be inconsequential.

As to the issue of failure to monitor...... once again, the evidence that the public is hearing overwhelmingly supports the conclusion that compliance officials at osu were not performing their responsibilities with due diligence to monitor players.

Show Cause? I have every reason to believe jim tressel will receive one of these letters from the NCAA.

Loss of institutional control? Obviously a subjective determination by NCAA officials in the case of osu. Clear to me that a case for such an allegation could be made.

If these factors are not a clear and embarrassing condemnation of the character and integrity of osu's football program, I don't know what is. I find it hard to believe that any osu fan respects or stands in awe of their football program as the story now is that the program appears to be rotten by any reasonable measure.

                              • ..... and BTW, Mike Hart and DSL are right about the lost decade of Michigan football with regard to the series between M and osu.

                                There is no excusing 1-9.
