That's how it all started for Michigan basketball. Everyone wanted to know how a college basketball player could afford to drive the SUV that he rolled over, at 4:00 am ...

A poster at Rivals provided the following link which contains several "missing" tressel emails between Sarniak, himself and Cicero. osu spokesman stated the inadvertently omitted emails raise no new issues. The conclusion of the writer in the linked emails is that they do because there is no rational explanation, given that the emails clearly show that tressel and smith knew that tressel's confidentially defense was bogus, other than an attempt at, although mindbogglingly stupid, a planned cover up by smith that he thought he could get away with. Would appear that smith is up to his neck in this shit as well.
I'm not sure I agree with that conclusion. If I had followed some of this more closely, maybe I could conclude this is more fuel to the fire and that tressel and smith are not going to be able to explain these kinds of inconsistencies under NCAA questioning at the COI.

LOL! "inadvertently omitted"!!!
Yes, we inadvenrently omitted these emails that prove our coach's entire excuse, that he was "asked for confindentiality" occurred several WEEKS after he forwarded the first email to Pryor's "mentor". Aka, these emails show that his entire defense is a conveniently excuse that he created in hindsight after the incident happened.
Tressel didn't give a shit about confidentiality until he realized he could use that an an excuse for why he lied to everyone.

To be fair, there is so much interpreting of raw information available to the public without background that the potential for erroneous interpretation is pretty high.
I think it is fair to say that the confidentiality defense that supposedly answers the question, why tressel did not tell anyone about the tat5, begs a second question, who did he tell inside osu? Its clear now that he told people outside of osu. I'm having a very hard time believing he didn't tell smith or someone in compliance about the tat5 and those insiders in the know decided to hush it up.
Jt is a very smart guy. Can anyone imagine that he did not have discussions about this and about how it should be handled with others inside the university? If he was sending emails to Sarniak and Cicero openly like it appears he was, it is inconceivable to me that smith didn't know about this and there are emails on a hard drive somewhere that have not been found yet.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. Alot of that raw information that you mention, if you notice, is coming from the columbus dispatch newspaper. I don't know what their motives are or if they are like the freep, but all the national media outlets are getting their info from them. You have to spend the time and read the comments after these articles, it's a meltdown in cb.
I believe that jt also confided in smith that's why smith blamed the complaince department regarding the tat5 affair for not doing their job, even after reporting how many 3-4 hundered violations in the last few years. When do they have the time to inform these athletes about what to do and not to do? Political football is being played at o-lie-o both inside and outside the university and I'm lovin it.Last edited by geo weidl; May 9, 2011, 12:43 PM.

The Brain and mgoblog of osu?? ....... a pretty decent analysis of how deep the cesspool is becoming in c-bus and how ridiculous the buckeye nation's head in the sand attitude about it really is.
There is also several good blurbs in this link about the osu nation's perception of Hoke's impact on the osu/M rivalry. Basically, Hoke is killing tressel and staff in the recruiting wars and hearkens back to times past when M really did get good players out of ohio making the rivaly on Saturdays as competative as it was for so many years.
Great news from the Southern front:

Life's a bitch.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP)—As part of his punishment for not revealing his knowledge of his players’ NCAA violations, Ohio State coach Jim Tressel will attend a five-day compliance seminar in June in Tampa, Fla.
Ohio State spokesman Jim Lynch confirmed Saturday that Tressel would take part in the NCAA-sponsored event June 6-10 at a resort hotel on the waterfront.Last edited by geo weidl; May 9, 2011, 02:06 PM.

Repeat, how is the car dealership stuff directly related to Tressel? He's supposed to be monitoring what all his players are driving and closely reviewing their financing arrangements? Is he also responsible for going over their rent agreements? Should he be there to witness them signing the lease? When they go out shopping, do they need Tressel's permission first and he or a staff member must accompany them?
Does Hoke/RichRod/LLLLLLoyd do all those things?

Gee, I wonder what violations got Youngstown State in trouble under Tressel? Oh yeah, that's right, he steered players to a guy who gave them cars and cash, and then denied that he knew anything about it.
What a shock that the EXACT SAME SCENARIO is playing out at Ohio State?
Tressel has been dirty from day one. He just knows how to keep his hands LOOKING clean. At least, until someone made the mistake of creating a paper (email) trail.

LOL! Everywhere Tressel goes players get free cars and cash. But it isn't HIS fault. How could he possibly know? It isn't like he personally introduced the players to the guy giving them cars at YSU. Oh wait, he did!
Tressel is master at setting up the payola and then looking the other way and using his bogus "holier than though" to pretend he actually cares about rules and regulations. And then when caught, how could he possibly know about all the payola stuff? He had NO IDEA that every star player he ever had was on the take.
Poor, poor St. Jim.
