  • The level of success that Ohio State has had since hiring UFM -- I mean, M has never even be close to that. Or at least not since Yost. The expectations of the two programs are really different -- though narrowing. They've lost 5 conference games in 10+ seasons. They've lost 13 total games, and 3 of those were in the CFP, 1 was a bowl game and 1 was the B10 CG. They've lost 8 regular season games in 10+ seasons.

CRD is 39-4 (35-2 in the regular season!) -- and he's only at 39 because Covid robbed him of 6 more wins -- and he doesn't exactly have the complete trust of the fanbase.

In some ways, the move to 12 may help CRD. It feels like HARBAUGH!!!! is building his teams to beat OSU and CRD is building his teams to compete in the CFP. Whatever. It's gonna be a disaster in a few weeks.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

    • JJ is the weak link of the team, I really thought he would be better at this point of the season. The only chance Michigan has is if the weather is bad, HARBAUGH!!! has done what we wanted though and has a tough team - on a roll - that has made fantastic halftime adjustments.

      • The passing game is multidimensionally meh. Nobody is good other than Ronnie Bell.

        • If they could run the delayed TE drag 25 times a game, then they'd never be stopped!

          • Injuries have impacted M but the good news is that the 2s and 3s have filled in with not a lot of drop off. For you guys when you start with a 5* and he goes down the drop off is probably more noticeable. For example, starting LT Ryan Hayes DNP and was replaced by "who's he???" Jeffrey Percey. No one noticed. Gamon Green DNP and was replaced by true freshman Will Johnson. No one noticed. Roman Wilson by true frosh Tyler Morris who made a key 3rd down conversion contested catch.

There was a comment on mgo's Sunday's pod cast that identified a culture change in the program that started in 2020, built in '21 and has become evident in '22. It's the sort of culture that Bo brought to "The Team" that's been absent for a while. Mike Morris in a post game interview was asked about what makes this team capable of subbing so many players and performing at such a high level? He credits Harbaugh with his focus on team work, being ready to step up and play. Keeps players focused across the roster.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

And he's just a position receiver really. Roman Wilson is really the best deep threat until he got hurt. JJ seems to like Edwards (and that's ok) AA has been a disappointment and Johnson has had some not-so-good games.

              • Yeah, whatever re "the team" and all that self-congratulatory bulllshit. And honestly, who gives a fuck about injuries against Rutgers? Ohio State was w/o Trey Henderson, JSN and half their secondary against Rutgers. Rutgers sucks. OSU won 49-10. Miyan Williams rushed for almost 200 yards and FIVE touchdowns.

Ohio State's injuries have, without a doubt, been way more significant than M's.

                • AA never gets targeted. He chose the wrong program to play it. When he does get targeted and it's actually a decent throw, he produces.

We had both starting tackles out for Rutgers. We did OK.

None of our issues on offense are injury related though. Our passing game is just lousy. Bell is the only guy who would be on the depth chart at OSU and McCarthy is shaping up to be another bust. At least when it comes to throwing the football. I do like his feet and his moxie though.

I know M did ok. The point was that it wasn't some sort of super secret HARBAUGH!!!! sauce. It was playing Rutgers.

M's WRs are generally meh -- or at least that's what I've seen. I do like Bell, but he's not elite. He's more "nice" or "solid" -- on of them guys you can trust. He'd be a nice compliment to Harrison and Egbuka, but asking him to carry the load will only get you so far. Georgia manned up UTK's WRs -- who are way better than M's -- and basically shut them down.

HARBAUGH!!!! has done a nice job of getting his OL where he wants it and getting enough talent at skill positions to really make it work in the B10. But, as I've been saying for awhile, there's just not enough talent on that roster to beat an elite SEC team in anything other than fluke game.

Ohio State probably has the talent to at least give themselves a fighting chance, but they don't have the coaching.

I wouldn't call him a bust just yet. Wonder if osu will have a spy on him? Rutgers seemed to have a good game plan not going to let him hurt them with his legs and it worked well. Edges out wide to keep him from rolling out and putting a safety spy on him in the middle of the field. I don't remember him having any big runs out of the pocket.

                        • OSU's defense is like Michigan's -- untested. Who's the best offense that either team has played? Maryland? Penn State? Bleh. Michigan and OSU are the only top 30 offenses in the B1G and PSU is the highest of either our opponents at #34 in yards per game.

Edit —UM has played 4 of the country’s bottom 10 offenses (CSU, Hawaii, Iowa. UConn). We’ll get exposed badly either by OSU or in the playoff.

UNL has a better chance of slaying HARBAUGH!!!!!!! than any of you asshammers winning the Powerball.
