Welp, a pretty damn good offensive class for Ohio State and a meh class for defense. Hafley leaving is going to cause Clark Phillips to flip. He was, by far and away, their best defensive recruit and a lockdown CB. And they really NEED more CBs with Okudah and Wade departing for the NFL this year. They also missed out on their RB of choice and were definitely in Plan C territory. Bijan Robinson was all Ohio State until his grandparents said it was too far. You add Robinson and keep Phillips and it's an A class. As it is, maybe B+.
So, next year they're going to be horrific in the secondary. Well, probably not horrific, but low to mid 4* average instead of high 4*/5* lockdown good. They're going to have to pretty much outscore everyone. If they can keep most of their OL intact then they should have a shot at doing that. But, it won't be much fun watching 45-38 games.
Oh well. Hopefully CRD hires someone really good to replace Hafley (I'd love to see Coombs come back) and then they can put together the 2021 class I think they can. They're in on a ton of very good CBs and I think they can get at least 2 with the right hire. I have almost no concerns about recruiting on the offensive side of things.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
Also of some note, Rak Jarrett flipped from LSU to Maryland yesterday. He's from the Metro area and his a 5* WR. Obviously, one has to wonder how much The Turtle had to pay him. Seems like everyone in the Big Ten East is dirty as shit, except one white knight.

Two white knights Hoss, State doesn't pay either! It shows with the 11th rated class in the Big Ten! We reached the moutaintop with a 38-0 shellacking in the CFP and have decided not to try anymore. The end of the Perles era redux. There are even rumors that there are no staff changes.
Yeah we did tried it once and it didn't work out. The Michigan way of family & friends was a failure, back to the old tried and tested meritocracy instead.
