  • Thought OSU was going to blow that game. CJ with the clutch play in the end.
Good win on the road considering Cinci was considered one of the better AAC teams this season. B10 is off to a nice start so far. I'd count the MSU loss to Kansas as a "good loss."

    • UC has generally bitched for years -- since the Huggins Era -- about OSU not playing them. Then they finally played a neutral site game against OSU's Oden team -- to UC's unending annoyance. Then they played in the NCAA Tournament in the Sweet Sixteen against OSU's other FF team under Matta. Heh. This was supposed to be their game. Suck it!

As a general FYI, if you say good things about Sparty, I believe that revokes your M fandom in toto, which leaves you with just BOILER UP! Now, that's better than Ohio State these days, but it ain't no HARBAUGH!!!!! or BEILEIN!!!! So, you may want to reconsider your post.

        • The Over/Under for OSU-Sparty is 52. Apparently, Vegas algorithms have this pegged at roughly 28-24. I feel really good about backing Sparty in this one. I'm over the motherfucking moon in backing the Under. It's almost as someone went and planted a money tree in my front yard.

          • I think TOSUC breaks out this game. Michigan State is a dead man walking. Take the over and lay the points.

              • I don't get how the total of that game is higher than the Michigan/Rutgers game. It makes no sense, MSU has had two games go over 52 all season. If you are going over the points are all on the Buckeye squad, this Spartan offense is not good Cotton.

                  • The Buckeyes might win and put a big number, but I'm not sure on the dead man walking narrative. They are starting to get relatively healthy. I'm not sure if Josh Butler is playing but he was close last week and if he plays they will finally have their two best corners going for the first time this season.

                          • ....... also: If MSU lines up in 22 formations with the QB under center, they'll play right into the osu's hands. This isn't the way to advantage the offense against osu's very questionable LB play.

Give those dudes as many gaps to worry about and as many play options out of spread concepts you can. They can't handle it.

                            Will Dantonio do that?

He's more the Mork than I thought he was if he doesn't.

                            • The offensive line got dinged up against Maryland. That injury report is missing guys, Butler isn't on it and he hasn't played in 6 games. The 2nd string punter is out for the season and that would have been costly last week if they played someone other than Maryland as the guy they found on campus to punt shanked two badly.

As far as formations, they've resorted to playing Justin Layne at receiver so playing stuff spread out is not really in the cards, you need receivers to do that.

                              • Good to know. Thanks, Froot.

Well, I guess my "curb stomping" comment with regard to what osu will do to MSU may not be that far off after all.

From what I'm reading and despite talent's concerns, I don't think this game is going to be that close. I suspect osu will look in control most of the game and win by 14.

Things to make that prediction look silly: MSU manages to get good pressure on Haskins, MSU's classic double A-Gap blitz works, osu is held to under 150 yards rushing. In that case and if Dantonio manages to keep it close into the 4th, drum roll ........ osu wins by 3 with the score something like 24-21.
