Trey Smith predictably goes with his heart. Bah.
OSU's efforts now turn to securing Shaun Wade, battling aTm for Kendall Sheffield, finding a DT and then figuring out who else they can take.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Yes, Life in the Shadow is difficult. And, of course, come January we're into the offseason and no one, I mean no one, wins the offseason like HARBAUGH!!!!!!
It's bitterly disappointing.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Wouldn't be surprised to see Dantonio pack it in pretty soon. With OSU in the top 4 every year and U-M and PSU resurgent, there just isn't any room at the top of the east division. Hard to recruit against those three as well.I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

"At Michigan State we were never No. 1," Saban said. "It was always Michigan this or that. (In) Ohio it would be Ohio State. In Indiana it's Purdue. Chicago, it's every other school in the Big Ten. In the East it's Penn State. Wherever you go you're looking at someone else when you're recruiting, trying to convince someone you're up there."

I'll do my best to put it back on topic. In the world of who gives a flying fuck, Ohio State finished a clear 2nd for Trey Smith. He was really complimentary of the entire staff and program and made explicitly clear that they were 2nd. Unfortunately, the heart won and 2nd is good-for-nothing.
The more I read, the more I think OSU is going to nab a similarly meaningless silver with Darnay Holmes.
Still, big picture-wise, it's great to see UFM giving a Tennessee kid and Tennessee lock lots of to think about, and it's great to see UFM pushing really hard for a West Coast kid.
Right now he has verbals from 6 different 5* kids from California, Texas, Florida (2), Maryland and Ohio, with a second from Texas in the bag. And he's right in the game for the likes of Smith, Holmes, Akers and Wilson, and had LeCounte in the bag until Richt was fired and Kirby was hired. Encouraging.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Back off topic, it would seem blindingly obvious that The Nick left for what he considered greener pastures. Whether that was money, better recruiting options, better administrative support, better whatever -- Occam's Razor suggests he left because he though the LSU job was a better option.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
