I wish I could ignore Cooper's record. I'm far more inclined to ignore M's pre-Great War record against OSU/non-conference record against OSU.
Coop's record, sadly, falls in the modern era. Miraculously, however, OSU has a winning record against M since Coop's hire. Never thought I'd see it.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Woody-Bo: 4-5-1
Earle-Bo: 5-4-
Cooper: 2-10-1
Tressel: 9-1
Fickell: 0-1
UFM: 4-0
15-12-2
So, Bo v Woody/Earle was 10-10-1. Coop/Tress was 11-11-1. Then Fickell...bah...then UFM...yay!Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

I believe Woody was 12-6 prior to Bo's arrival. So, if I were to date it from the arrival of an Ohio State legend in 1951, it'd be 27-18-1.
For my money, the most pro-OSU way of looking at the series that is also clearly principled and coherent is conference games. IMO, that represents the moment when the two programs were on par and accounts for M's significant "head start." The only odd thing about it is that it has to wait until 1918 even though OSU joined in 1912. M had that brief period where the left the conference and then returned. To that end, I'd probably include 1912 even though M wasn't a conference member -- OSU was and thus, by my reasoning, competing at the same level.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

That'll give them 18. I think 2-3 more spots. I mean, when DPJ comes to his senses they'll definitely create room!!!! :-)Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
