  • Right -- again, expectations for Michigan are just as much based on graduation losses at OSU and MSU as they are on what Michigan has going for it. Which is ample.

    • There are still some players left on defense that the scout likes! And OSU doesn't have to deal with the deadly accuracy and steel resolve of Jake RUUUUUUUUUUDock. I like OSU's chances of hanging within 21!

      • Thank you for that instructive and fact-filled informational exchange.

        • You're welcome. Two factual statements followed by a conclusion. Around here, that rates goddamn Plato on the scale of logic and rationality.

          • Speaking of scales, at this point it might help us all if you rated various facts based on how facty they are. We don't want to upset you with facts you don't consider facts.

                  • Right now, numbers are the only thing stopping Ohio State from landing the best class, by ranking, ever. Ever.

                    • Ohio State currently has verbals from 3 top 50 players (per 247 Composite): Myers, Wade and Pryor.

I think OSU is the "clear favorite" to land: Grimes (#11) and Lindsey (#21)

I think OSU is the "plurality favorite" to land: Okudah (#8 ), Martell (#29) and Lamont Wade (#37)

I think OSU is "in the mix" for: Holmes (#6), Kaindoh (#25) and Akers (#35). DPJ (#5) is probably in this group, too, but I just don't see him leaving the State. So, even though he's taken several unofficials, I rate him as likely as, say, Marvin Wilson (#4).

"Clear Favorite" = I would take OSU against the Field
"Plurality Favorite = I think OSU is the leader, but I'd take the Field
"In the Mix" = multiple unofficial visits or other inside info...any kid from the South is, at most, "in the mix" unless there's a very clear indication that OSU leads

Of OSU's commits, I think Shaun Wade is "in the mix". Taken together, I think OSU is in a good position to land 5-6 top 50 players.

Urban Meyer defended the way that the Buckeyes recruit in light of criticism from Kentucky signee Landon Young about the way he was treated by Ohio State.
