  • It was important for OSU to strike while the iron was lukewarm, Harbaugh gobbling up the 24/7 news cycle since he landed in AA was way too much. It's not NFL Harbaugh money (8-10M) a season rumored by Oakland & Miami but hey top shelf for Kiddie Table amateurs especially after a 2-loss (VT, Penn. St.) tainted title.

BuckLyin' & DSL, true to nature are gonna flip.....

    • talent ..... do you know if ufm has a clause in his contract that says he will be the highest paid coach in the Big Ten or something like that.
No idea. I rather doubt it. It's a weird baseline. You'd have to read through all the contracts and figure out what the base salary is plus bonuses. Which means you have to acquire the contract, which is easy enough to do with a public university, but not necessarily with a private. FITZGERALD!!!! Heh.

        • Guarantano should pick Tennessee today. Hopefully Ohio State lands Tristen Wallace in the near future to get their 2016 QB.

Eichenberg looks like a heavy ND lean. Bah.

Interesting comment from UFM in an interview with Pete Thamel posted on SI.com -- he said he's trying to slow down recruiting commitments at the moment. He'd much prefer to see the kids play their senior season. It would appear that unless a kid is a clear take (Wallace, Eichenberg, Ferns, Mack a few others), then OSU may wait a bit.

Class of 2017 -- both Shaun Wade and Bruce Judson are apparently visiting for the Spring game. Good news. They're both "committed", but, heh...yeah....that means they're interested. Good to see they're still interested.

          • I wonder why Meyer would say that. It's not as if his stud recruits are turning out to be busts.

            • Well, no. But, I think that he (a) likes to see a kid in his senior season and (b) likes to have some flexibility to chase high value recruits late in the process. Isaiah Prince, e.g., fell to them. Porter Gustin almost fell to them. He probably has a sense that he'll have a credible shot to pull some really good players in January and wants spots to work with.

              Anyway, that's my guess.

              • Tristen Wallace has committed to Ohio State. I guess that eliminates any shred of suspense for Guarantano, who will have Val, OSU and Rutgers hats on the table. Heh.

Ohio State's 247 Composite score for its 9 recruits would have ranked them at #6 overall in the B10 last season, one signee away from moving up to 4th. Heh.

                • Federal charges have been filed against an Ohio man, accusing him of going to Syria to get terrorist training, then returning to the United States with the intention of killing police or soldiers.

Authorities accuse Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud, 23, of Columbus, of leaving the U.S. in April 2014 "for the purpose of training and fighting with terrorists in Syria." Before returning to the U.S. in June 2014, he was "instructed by a cleric in the organization to return to the United States and commit an act of terrorism" and that he wanted to target "armed forces, police officers, or any uniformed individuals."

                    • Ohio saved the Union and vanquished the Confederacy 150 or so years ago and was kind enough to do it again this past January. Grant, Sherman, Chamberlain, Cardale. Show some respect.

In the meantime, the single most famous Western Ontario citizen was sympathizing with the Nazis and, in particular, their approach to the Jewish problem. Later Jim Bakker would foist Tammy upon the unsuspecting American public. And Madonna. For the love of god.

                      Grant-Sherman-Chamberlain-Cardale > Madonna-Ford-Jim Bakker

                            • Tuf Borland verbals to OSU. Another 4*, though he's the 2nd lowest rated recruit they've landed to date. That said, apparently he was at the top of their LB board (along with kid from Minnesota who stayed home). Nice pull -- Illinois kid who was a Wisconsin legacy. Apparently OSU had no idea they were getting him and didn't think they'd get him.

I reckon maybe one more 2016 kid will verbal this weekend perhaps a 2017 kid or two. For 2017 the kid has to be an obvious take.

Reality check -- Liam Eichenberg will announce on Sunday. Seems like ND. ND has been a thorn in OSU's side for OL which I find a bit odd given Warriner's results. But whatever the reason, they've pulled some big names in HtH battles with OSU.
