Taylor Lewan and Trey Burke each called press conferences to announce they were returning. Of course, neither of those was carried live by every single national sports cable channel. Nor was either of those the headline story on Sportscenter. Nor did either of those press conferences pre-empt NFL Live on the Friday before Championship Sunday. Nor did either of those dominate national morning talkshows today. Nor was either of those players guests on Mike & Mike to discuss their decision to come back to school.

I mean, I can call a press conference today to announce what I'm eating for lunch. No one is going to show up. But when Ohio State's third-string QB calls a press conference to announce his decision, the world stops and everyone listens. And then everyone talks about it. Because, well, you know....that little "f" word that irks you boys so much.....heh heh heh heh heh heh heh.....

Stuart Scott's passing got a lot of coverage, too. Doesn't mean it was warranted. But Froot is correct. He was going to go pro until someone without a vested monetary interest in his future explained how stupid that would be.

Whether the massive coverage is warranted or not is of no consequence to Cardale Jones. There WAS massive coverage (and still IS). It ain't his fault. You can't blame the dude who came up with f'n pet rock for making millions off the American public.

I really don't know what the Jones back story is. It seems like he changed his mind. However, the reason he's in Cleveland is because an uncle he's very close with is on his last legs in a hospice. Whatever. The only thing I care about is that he's coming back. With at least him and JTB, I feel pretty good about he QB situation.

Anyway, one last domino to fall on the existing roster and then it's full bore recruiting! So, we'll see if Braxton transfers or not. I'd be surprised if he did, but hell, I was stunned Cardale is staying.

Recruiting wise, 2015 is basically finished with maybe a spot or two still open if they can get the right kid -- right now they probably trail for the two they really want.

2016 is moving into full swing. They have their RB. They should get their QB in the next few weeks. And then it's a question of whether UFM can hit the New Jersey trifecta (thank you, Delaney, for adding Rutgers!)

I'll also have to do a run down of the Ohio class. I really like this year's class. I think there are 10 or so kids that definitely can play big boy CFB. Probably more.

If JTB gives OSU a better chance to win, then he'll play. It's really no different than the upcoming Speight-Morris-Malzone battle.

Anyway, it's hard to fault a kid for returning to school, though apparently not that hard if you're a M fan.
